Observation

Spoilers for the book Lost Boy by Christina Henry.

I don't know if there is anyone here who read the book, but I'm trying to be considerate and let you guys know. Reason why is because there will be spoilers in the book.

I'll put where the spoilers start and end for a heads up.

Karma hides herself in the trees. She had to make sure she's not found by the person who was "it". But it didn't help when Emma was on her right.

"I hope he doesn't find us." Emma whisper yelled.

"Shhhh..." Karma tells her, "If you don't be quiet, Jimmy will find us."

"I wonder if Norman is doing okay."

"What did I say–"

They both went silent when they heard footsteps on the ground. Jimmy was passing by and looks up to where they were.

"Alright, who's up there?"

Emma was about to tell Karma to follow her when she turned to her left and saw Karma jumping tree to tree.

Way to abandon me! Emma goes and follows Karma.

"Hey, get back here!" The tagger shouts out.

Karma hops tree to tree, careful not to slip and fall to the ground. Emma gets down from the other side of the tree. Karma makes it far enough to where she can't hear Jimmy and jumps off and lands on the ground to hide in the bushes. Emma came around right beside her.

"You think we lost him?" Emma whispers.

"Hopefully." Karma answers, "But I think we should go separate ways now."

"Why?!"

"Shh!"

"Why?" Emma lowers her voice more.

"Look, we almost got tagged by Jimmy. We have only five minutes left of the game. If we go separate ways, we won't be spotted so easily. It would be easier that way."

"I guess that's true but...I don't want to leave your side!"

"Emma, we're gonna get spotted because of you."
