Norman opens the journal, and begins to read.

May 21, 2043

Dear Diary,

So far everything's going smoothly.

I've gotten close to three of the kids here. Emma is the most energetic out of the trio while Ray is more mature and serious. Norman talks to me more.

Yesterday was testing day for all of us. I'm glad I passed though. I got most of them right, so I may need more studying.

Anyways...

Happy birthday, mom. I miss you.

Nothing inordinary about today. Yesterday I agreed to play tag with Emma and the other kids. Emma's not the best at being quiet. If we all escaped together, I would need to keep an eye her. But other than that, she's very active.

From what I've observed with Norman, he isn't that very athletic as Emma...

Thanks for writing what I already know. Norman thinks to himself with a little annoyed face.

...but he is really smart when it comes to strategy.

Karma, I take back whatever I thought.

But not much is known about Ray when it comes to being active. Maybe not. Who knows. I know it's my second day staying here, but I still want to learn more about Ray. All I know is that he likes to read. That's pretty much it. Emma and Norman would talk about all the things they like.

"Was she observing us this entire time?" Norman says to himself. He flips to the next page.

I discovered something today. Something that I had my suspicions on for awhile now.

Ray knows about the secret. He knew all this time and he also had a plan too. I decided that I will be working with him on escaping, so that means we joined forces.

He told me that he is the only one who knows that this place is a farm. He told me that he's been working on something that will nullify the trackers.

He's amazing. I was worried that the escape would take forever, but with Ray and his plans, it won't take so long.

The thing is that his plan only includes me, Emma, and Norman. I told him everyone should come, but he said that it can't be done.

But as for right now, we will both try to help everyone here live longer by studying and passing the tests. He said he tried before, but no one wanted to listen. But now that I'm here, I told him that I can help him convince the others to study more and pass their tests.

I'm guessing that it didn't go well like they planned.
