Dear Diary,

He's gone forever.

Norman. 22194. I'll never forget him. He was a great friend and brother. The smartest, most gentle, heartwarming boy I knew.

Before writing in this journal, terrible thoughts were going through my head. I almost made a huge mistake. But now, thanks to written words from the past and now, I know what I must do.

If he wants an escape, he'll get an escape.

I don't want his sacrifice to be in vain, nor do I want his memory to die. So I must do what I must.

I won't fail to escape and end this system where children will forever be the meals in the homes of the demons.

This is for you. Mom. Norman.

Emma. Ray.

Here is my plan...

Earlier...

The sky was cloudy and grey. It wasn't like most days where the clouds allowed the sun to shine on Gracefield House. But the weather seemed fit due to the circumstances the trio were in.

"Emma looks sad. I've never seen her like this before."

"It's not just Emma. Ray too. He's been really depressed."

"Karma wasn't up earlier than usual this morning. This must have took a toll on all of them."

"They must be lonely."

"Well, the four of them were good friends."

Karma, Emma, and Ray were all anyone had talked about during the day.

Nighttime came by, and there was another meeting in the dining hall set by Karma and Emma.

"So, what are we going to talk about?" Ray says as he sits in a chair slouching and looking down.

"What are we going to do now?" Don asks.

"I don't care." Ray answers. "Let's die here."

"Ray..." Karma mumbles.

"We're surrounded by a cliff." Ray says, "The only bridge going out is in the headquarters. This escape is impossible. Besides, I'm tired. Really tired."

Emma goes up to Ray, and holds out his invention.
"Then what about this?"

"I don't need it." Ray tells her.
"I don't need it. If you want to run away, then you do that. I'm sitting this out. Sorry."

Emma turns around to leave the dining hall.

"Emma." Gilda calls, but Emma didn't stop.

"Come on, Ray!" Don says.

"I'm sorry guys." Ray apologizes.

"I want to be alone with Ray for a moment." Karma tells Don and Gilda.

"We'll be waiting." Don tells Karma.

Don and Gilda exit the dining hall, leaving Karma and Ray.

"I'm not giving up on anything, Ray. You're coming with us." Karma walks over to Ray.

"Sorry, Karma." Ray apologizes once again.

Karma grows a little impatient. She crosses her arms.

"What about what you said before?" Karma tells him, "We'll escape from this place. You promised, Ray!"
