Peaking behind a red curtain, Emma whispers,"Conny?"

No response. However, she sees a dinner table in front of her. She goes slowly closer to the table...

On the table was supposedly blood in a wine glass along with bottles that were filled with the crimson liquid. But the main entreé is Conny's head on a silver platter.

Emma gasps and then realizes that there is a demon right behind her. It's jaws open wide, ready to devour her.

Right before it can eat Emma whole, she wakes up. She was frightened and in cold sweat.

The next morning came.

"Good morning!" Phil's shouts as he runs across the dining hall.

"Phil, no running!" Gilda orders.

It was clear that Emma wasn't her cheerful self this morning as she sets the table for breakfast. She keeps thinking about what happened last night.

"Mark, can you help set the table?" Isabella's voice was heard across the room.

Emma grows more in fear. It was obvious that after the events of last night, Emma could never see Isabella the same way like how she used to. She loved her. She thought Isabella loved them. But now, Emma's eyes were opened and saw her mother for so long is a person that sells the children off to demons.

She hears footsteps entering the dining hall. It was Norman holding hands with two of the other kids.

"Good morning, Emma!" He greets her.

Emma bares her fearful expression on her face as Norman walks up to her, only to whisper in her ear,"Come on, smile."

A little while later, Norman has a private conversation with Emma in the testing room.

"Listen, Emma." He tells her," We have to act normal like we always have. We broke the rules and went to the gate. But we didn't find anything."

"But Little Bunny." Emma reminds him.

"Mom must have found it, but she doesn't know who left it." Norman concludes.

"Mom was smiling. She doesn't show it on her face at all." Emma brings up.

"And that's what we have to do as well.
We can't lose. Let's smile."

Emma hesitates, but then finally shows a smile.

Now it was time to figure out how the children are chosen when they are shipped out. But there were a number of possibilities on how they were chosen.

They figured out that the ages from six and twelve acted as rankings. If six ranked normal, then twelve was high quality. Premium.

The scores played a role in the process as well. After children turn the age of six, they get harvested from the lowest test scores. Unfortunately, no matter what happens, they will be shipped out at the the age of twelve.

But why those ages?

"Is there a meaning for being between the age of six and twelve?" Emma questioned. "Is it the size of out bodies? But then weight would be a factor."

The two think for a moment, then Norman came up with an answer.

"It's our brains." Norman predicts, shocked of the answer. "The more developed, the more tastier."

Things were a lot clearer now than ever before. They have two months to escape before the next shipment.
