Despite Karma being an introverted and reserved person, many of the children liked her.
Scratch that. Everyone liked her.
When Karma would hear one of the kids cry from having a nightmare, she would go to comfort the child until they were able to fall asleep. She would run her fingers through their hair and/or sing a lullaby.
The girls loved it when Karma styled their hair. They liked Karma's hairstyle and would sometimes ask for the same hairstyle. The children liked it when Karma would practice her aerobatic skills in the forest. They would ask if she could teach them, but when she started with the basic...a few of them needed bandages afterwards. Of course, Karma would treat their injuries.
Not only did Karma had a good relationship with the kids in the orphanage, but also Isabella. Sometimes when Isabella would sing or rock the babies to sleep, Karma would help out. When the children were sick, Karma would also keep watch and help Isabella take care of them. Isabella taught Karma how to cook and sow. She appreciates Karma for acting motherly towards the children when she would be busy working on other things.
Spending time with Emma would go two ways. Starting out as disaster to turning out great and vice-versa. Emma would ask Karma to go and play with her, but it took lots of persuasion.
When Karma would oblige, Emma would have competitions with her. Competitions like racing, playing staring contests, seeing who can win at tic tac toe, anything...as long as it's doable or not too crazy.
As mentioned before, hanging out with Emma could go from disaster to turning out great and the other way around. One of the times it started off as a disaster was when Emma challenged Karma in a cooking competition. As soon as it started, there was already a small fire cause by Emma. It didn't help when Emma was just panicking while Karma puts out the fire.
How did it turn out great in the end? They turned it to an eating competition. Emma won that one and they fell asleep after eating too much.
Norman would look out for Karma. She would get distracted by reading in the library when she first arrived at the orphanage. She almost missed dinner a couple of times and Norman would go and get her to go eat.
The habit eventually went away and Karma would eat when it's time.
The two would play chess once in a while. Of course, Norman won most of the time. The two liked acting as detectives when it came to things that would get lost in the orphanage. Karma liked spending time with Norman as he liked spending time with her as well. They both trusted each other.
In everyone's eyes, Karma and Ray were just two kids who read together underneath the tree. But there's a little more to that.
Karma would get Ray to stop reading and go walk with her in the forest sometimes. They both would walk around and talk about books mostly. Ray would ask Karma where she was from, any talents he never knew about, but Karma would say, "That's for you to find out while I'm here."
Ray would give recommendations on books he read before that he thought were great and Karma would read all of them. Karma got into fantasy books thanks to Ray. Before, she liked historical fiction and mystery.
They both liked each other's company. They also shared secrets.
The quadruple liked spending time with each other, and they would always have fun. To everyone else, they seemed inseparable.
They could be friends for life.
And Karma always wanted that.▪︎▪︎▪︎□▪︎▪︎▪︎
