Alyssa's POV:
----

I watched Daya carry another box out of the house and to the waiting truck outside. They thought it was a good idea to get everything moved out of the old house before the wedding so we wouldn't have to worry about it. But I don't know if I completely agreed with that.

There was still stuff littered throughout mine and Maddy's old shared room. Mainly my stuff. I sighed as I picked up a couple clothes and tossed them into a bag, leaning against the wall and wrapping my arms around myself. After the wedding we'd be off to rehearsals for Adore's tour. And then soon we'll be touring. Everything was moving too fast.

"Alyssa?" June's voice echoed now that there wasn't much stuff left in the house. She looked into the room, tilting her head. "Are you okay?"

I looked up at her, sighing and shaking my head. "No..."

June walked over and laid her hands on my waist. "Aly..." She said quietly. "I know you don't like the change. Are you really going to be okay doing all of this tour stuff? It's quite a lot and you're already overwhelmed..."

I hesitated before shrugging a little. "I don't really know..." I whispered, leaning forward against her shoulder. "I'm kind of trying to disassociate from all of it."

June ran a hand through my hair, and it was kind of calming. "That's not healthy, Aly. At least I don't think it is..."

I just shrugged again. "It's worked for me this far, hasn't it?"

Before she could answer, Daya was making her rounds through the house. "Is there anything left that needs to be taken out?"

I reluctantly pulled away from June, tossing the last few things scattered throughout the room into my bag. "Just one thing..."

Daya took it from my hands, tilting her head a little. "Everything alright? You look kinda sick."

I retreated back into the safety of June's arms. Maybe if I said I was fine, I could convince myself that I was. That used to work. But it hasn't been lately. "Yeah, I'm fine."

Daya exchanged a look with June. I could tell she didn't believe me. "Don't worry, we'll go shopping or something soon to make the new place feel more homey. And then all of our friends will join us and it'll feel perfect."

I looked down at my hands, fidgeting with the engagement ring on my finger. "Y-Yeah..."

Daya sighed. "Take your time, Aly. We're gonna finish loading up the truck."

I nodded, watching her leave the room. I laid my head on June's chest, still fidgeting with my ring. "...Can you ask if we can stop for snacks?"

June smiled a little, kissing my forehead. "Of course. I'll go help Daya and ask her."

I watched her go, and I hesitated for a moment before following her. I stopped in the doorway, glancing back into the room.

Before I was accepted into that university and met them all, I didn't really have a home. I bounced between Orion's house and the houses of some other old friends. I didn't really have somewhere I belonged or could call my own.

So when Daya offered to let me move in with her and Maddy so our little band could stay together even during breaks, I felt like I finally had a home. And now I had to say goodbye to that first real home.

I took a deep breath before finally walking away from that room and down the hall. Maddy sat on the ledge near the windowsill, Willow across from her as they watched Daya and June finish with the last of our stuff. Maddy looked over, lips settling into a pout.
