"What are you doing here?" Jasper hissed out, his hand clutching my wrist.

How did I not see this coming? Usually when something big is about to happen, I'm forced into having a vision of it. Maybe it's because of my recent transformation?

"Well, I could tell you now, but unfortunately we are too close to your coven and I can't have them hearing about this." He tilts his head a little to the direction that leads us away from our house. "Shall we?"

I look to Jasper, both of us showing hesitancy as we nod. We both start walking with Alec, me being in between them.

As we get further and further away, the itchiness inside of me to know why he is here gets stronger.

We come by a beautiful lake, and that's when he decides that we have traveled far enough. He speeds and sits on the edge of a boulder, both Jasper and I walking a little closer to stand in front of him.

"Okay, we are far away from our coven now. Tell us why you're here? We haven't done anything wrong." I speak expressionlessly. His smirk deepens and he chuckles a little.

"Still as straight forward as you were when you were little. I'm glad that hasn't changed." He says while looking me up and down.

"Answer her." Jasper demands sternly, his southern accent coming out more.

Alec sighs and throws his head back a little then looks back at us.

"I've come to see why you both are stuck in my head." He says, confusing us greatly. "You see a year ago I went to Paris to get rid of some vampires that pissed off my masters, and wow oh mighty, I run into the little girl that my masters have been talking about nonstop. Except she's not so little anymore. In fact she's blossomed. And since then I've had not just her but her mate stuck in my head, clouding my vision and pissing me off."

I look down and furrow my eyebrows, trying to come up with why that could be happening to him.

"Why on earth would we be in your mind?" Jasper snaps. Alec scoffs.

"That's what I want to know. Didn't I say that before?" They both roll their eyes.

I huff and move to sit next to him.

"Why are we in your head?"

"Jesus you two, don't you think that if I had the answer I would have told you by now?" Alec groans.

I sigh. Why does life have to be so complicated. I stand up and start walking towards the house.

"Hey! Where are you going?" Alec calls out.

"There's only one person that can help us, and that's Carlisle."

"This is strange. I've seen this before." He gets up and goes looking for a book from the shelves.

The three of us are sitting around the round table in his office. Carlisle comes back with a book titled 'mates and other bonds'. I furrow my eyebrows.

"A few years after my transition I met a couple, except it wasn't two of them, it was three. You see, the second female had been travelling when she met the other two, who she soon realised were her mates. Before she realised they were her mates though, she had gone to visit her old coven but she couldn't get the two out of her head.

The faces of the two consumed her mind until she couldn't take it and went searching for them. The further she got, the worse it was. When she did find them they went searching and found this book."

Carlisle goes through the book until he gets to the page he wanted.

"When she first laid eyes on them, her mate had died at the same time. If a vampires destined mate dies and the vampire is looking at another vampire or destined to be vampire, instantly they become mates with not only the vampire they were looking at but their mate as well. However, the two mates don't have to accept the other if they don't want to. You will feel a connection with the other but it's not as strong until you mate with them.

The throuple that I met had chosen to be together because they had all bonded and decided that they want that sort of relationship."

I bite my lip and look down to my hands.

"S-so your saying that Alec is now our mate?" I ask Carlisle.

"Yes." He says.

I look to Alec and see him looking down. He gulps and stands up.

"I'll be making my way back to Italy." He says and speeds away.

I see Jasper get up and chase after him. I follow both of them. When I reach them I see that we are back at the lake and Alec is sitting on the boulder.

"You can't seriously be asking me that. I've just been told that the only happiness I could ever have in this immortal life has been taken from me and now I'm a burden or obstacle course in another mated couples relationship. Im going back to Volterra and we will never talk of this again." Alec snaps at Jasper.

Jasper let's out the darkest laugh I've ever heard him do.

"You think I'm gonna let you go after discovering that information. You don't think I feel the bond? I've been feeling it since I saw you when you made your appearance."

"Good to know, now if you excuse me I have an angry master to get back to." Alec says.

Jasper grabs his arm before he could speed away.

"You should know something, Alec." Alec raised his eyebrows to Jasper, waiting for him to continue. "I'm very possessive when it comes to my mates."

I let out a silent gasp when I see Jasper pin Alec to a tree by his shoulders.

"What are you doing? Let me go!" Alec half shouts in his thick accent.

A shiver shoots up my spine. Woah, what was that?

"You can come out from hiding now, darlin'." Jasper calls out. I gulp and step out from behind the bush.

I make my way to the two and stand beside them. I don't know how to feel about this. I do feel a connection with Alec, although it isn't as strong as the one I have with Jasper. But to think that I have two mates, sort of? It feels kinda... good?
