Chapter 16: Under the moonlight

Uzui's POV: I just finished setting up the party, at last we finally finished. Now we're just waiting for the guests. I helped Rengoku steal his father's sake since I ran out already, we we're also told Kanroji-san was gonna bring some food she made with Iguro, Shinobu brought some juice for Muichiro since he was still too young to drink, My flashy wives set up the table and it seems like everything is perfect! This is gonna be such a flashy celebration.

I was all excited in stuff when I realized Shinazugawa was bringing Tomioka. I don't know if mermaids somehow have allergies or dislikes certain things. I'm sure Tomioka had never tasted sake either. But won't it be cool if I was able to convince him to drink... I mean he's living with humans now! He should be able to adapt, and I think we can totally help him with that.

...Knock knock ''Uzui!! It's me, Mitsuri and Iguro! Can we come in?'' 

Narrator's POV: Uzui was met with Mitsuri holding a box with food, while Iguro was carrying the rest of the meals. Uzui welcomed the two and let them in. ''It looks like we're the first two guests!'' Mitsuri said. ''Yup, but it's good you two came early, we still need to prepare the food you made in the table.'' UZui said. ''We'll help!'' Mitsuri replied. 

It had been 30 minutes and the others are now arriving. Sanemi, Tomioka and Shinobu entered at the same time but we're the last to join. Shinobu put down the juice she was holding and gave a cup for Muichiro. ''For you Tokito-san!'' Shinobu smiled. Muichiro had a slight smile as he looked at the cup. It was a cup with fish and water designs.

Shinobu then went up to Tengen to clarify something. '''Uzui-san, if you don't mind that Tokito-san had brought some of his friends!'' Shinobu said politely. ''Ah shit, you should've said that earlier...'' Uzui said. ''Well I spoke with Himejima and he said he would like to be in charge of the kids.'' Shinobu told Uzui. Uzui sighed in relief and agreed, he was glad Himejima was there for the kids, he didn't want to be a bad influence for the friends of Muichiro.

Meanwhile with Sanemi and Tomioka...

It was some awkward silence, Tomioka and Sanemi weren't even talking. But Sanemi had already sensed that Tomioka was anxious. Sanemi took Tomioka hand assuring him it'll be fine. ''If you wanna leave we leave,'' Sanemi told him, making Tomioka feeling less worried. ''Thank you.'' Tomioka whispered.

It had only been an hour and MItsuri, Tengen, Rengoku, Obanai and Shinobu we're drunk. Mitsuri and Tengen we're betting how much bottles Shinobu can drink. Himejima was reading stories for the Kamaboko squad. (Stan father HImejima)

Sanemi cringed as he saw Mitsuri, Tengen, Rengoku and Obanai playing some couple games while Shinobu is pretending to be disgusted by it. Sanemi thought that is a terrible first party Tomioka could ever come to. So he took his hand and left before seeing any unwanted sight. Sanemi didn't expect such a shitty party. So Sanemi looked for a more better and peaceful place he and Tomioka can have a moment in. (No, they're not gonna make out)

There was a mountain that Sanemi found, it was more of like a plateau. It wasn't too high to climb, any normal being can easily climb it. In the mountain there would be a beautiful sight in the edge of the mountain. It does not matter if it's morning or not, it's beautiful either way. The two had made they're way on the edge, admiring the gorgeous night sky. 

Sanemi takes a glance at Tomioka seeing his dark blue eyes with the night sky full of stars reflected at his eyes. It's nice to see Tomioka's eyes not looking so dull and depressed as always. So Sanemi thought this was kind of rare.

''That was quite a party.'' Sanemi said, knowing very well Tomioka was confused humans acted like that. ''I didn't know people can be like that. I saw a lot of empty bottles laying around and I assume that's alcohol.'' Tomioka said briefly. Sanemi chuckled, ''Yeah, I'm glad my tall friend Uzui didn't offer you some of that.'' Sanemi replied. Tomioka looks at a bright star twinkling, when a sudden flashback clicks on Tomioka's head.

Flashback...

''Look up there Yuu, aren't the stars pretty?'' Tsutako told her little brother. ''They're like you, they shine very bright and pretty!'' Tomioka replied. Tsutako's heart was charmed by the compliment. ''You know, I believe that stars represent all the deceased people, so once I die, I will always be shining at you.'' Tsutako smiled. ''Nee-san, don't say that you'll die! I'll be sad forever.'' Tomioka cried out. ''It's okay Yuu, I'll always be with you, even in your heart.''

...

''Always be with you..'' The faint voice repeating over Tomioka's head, making him tear up. Sanemi looked at Tomioka, letting his head over Sanemi's shoulder. ''How will I know she's still with me?'' Tomioka stuttered out wiping his tears.

 ''I know she still is, she's up there.'' Sanemi pointed at a bright star. ''You believe in that too?'' Tomioka questioned. Sanemi nodded, ''Yes I do, and I always see 8 bright stars shining towards me, but there's another beside me.'' Sanemi told him. ''What?'' Tomioka said.

''Idiot it's you, and damn I love you so much.'' Sanemi replied. (I DON'T NEED NO LIGHT TO SEE YOU SHINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE) Tomioka blushed, ugh why is the author so cheesy. Sanemi kissed Tomioka under the moonlight, while the gentle wind run through. But when you look at me, the only memory is us kissing in the moonlight. (Author: I woke up feeling extra cheesy today.)
