Chapter 17: A surprisingly soft side

Tanjiro's POV: I had been sensing Kocho drinking tea with Shinazugawa and someone else I am not familiar with. Every time I'm out for missions I would sometimes spot Shinazugawa with the black haired man with him. Well I'm quite curious about him, in fact that Kanao-san had interacted with him once. and she told me he's nice. But whenever I try to talk with the black haired person, Shinazugawa would tell me to back off. 

I had interacted with almost everyone in the corps, even the Kakushi and other demon slayers. I want to befriend pretty much everyone I see, I just feel like everyone should deserves a friend! There had many people who would look rather lonely and it pains my heart just to see others like that. Despite not knowing who they are, I just want to make them feel that they are cared for! 

I remember the Zenitsu had a crush on the black haired person and had mistaken him as a woman. Zenitsu's reaction was hilarious after realizing it wasn't a woman. The time Inosuke first saw Shinazugawa with the other person, he laughed thinking Shinazugawa was actually soft.  I don't mean this lightly when I was so happy when I thought Shinazugawa finally found someone. How foolish of me to just assume that.

But if they are really dating then that's wonderful for Shinazugawa, whenever Shinazugawa is with the other person, he suddenly goes really soft and not hot-tempered. I'm glad there's someone who can calm him down, to be honest that was the first time I saw Shinazugawa so calm. And I actually think that the other person looks like Shinazugawa''s wife.

Narrator's POV: 

''Tanjiro!!'' Zenitsu yelled as he ran up to Tanjiro. ''You will never guess what I just witnessed!'' Zenitsu said. ''What is it?'' Tanjiro asked calmly. Zenitsu took a deep breathe, ''So basically the black haired guy saw Inosuke really mad with Uzui for calling him weak, Shinazugawa just looked at the two while the other guy actually thought of stopping them, Inosuke was about to attack the other guy when black hair guy offers a small box of Onigiri and told him to calm down and have some of the food. Uzui laughed and told the black hair guy Inosuke is just as hot-tempered as Shinazugawa and he would refuse the food and curse at him. But that didn't happen and Inosuke actually took the food and his eyes lit up in sparkles. Inosuke actually THANKED him and left without saying another word, I felt like I was in a completely new world.'' Zenitsu sped up his words like Eminem, Tanjiro actually understood the whole thing. 

''Huh really?'' Tanjiro exclaimed. ''I'm not saying bullshit! It actually happened! And I honestly expected you would be the first person to make Inosuke be kind or something.'' Zenitsu added. As Zenitsu and Tanjiro continues to talk, Tanjiro spots Inosuke under a tree eating Onigiri. ''Look it's Inosuke!'' Tanjiro told Zenitsu. 

Zenitsu's face is still traumatized from such an experience, so Tanjiro had to drag Zenitsu since his body was frozen. ''Hi Inosuke! It seems like you're enjoying your food.'' Tanjiro greeted Inosuke. Inosuke stayed silent, ate the whole Onigiri on his hand and put his mask quickly. ''Yeah! That shit's hella good!'' Inosuke replied. 

The three walked around the town nearby the Butterfly mansion, Zenitsu was explaining to Tanjiro how he would marry Tomioka if he was a girl. ''Alright, I'll tell Nezuko about that.'' Tanjiro declared. ''TANJIRO-'' Zenitsu yelled out. When the three was met by the married cou- I mean Shinazugawa and Tomioka. (WELL SOON TO BE MARRIED😳)

''Move out of the way!'' Sanemi yelled at the three. ''My apologie-!'' Tanjiro was cut by Inosuke who yelled back at Sanemi. ''Huh?! Are you asking for a fight?!'' Inosuke said. ''Oh come on, you know you won't las-'' Sanemi felt a tug in his sleeve. ''Don't be so rude now, they're just teenagers.'' Tomioka said. 

Sanemi slightly lowers his head and whispers a sorry. ''Ha! How pathe-'' Tanjiro closed Inosuke's mouth before causing another war. ''My apologies, our friend is just grumpy.'' Tanjiro said. ''Its alright, you guys are demon slayers too right?'' Tomioka questioned. 

''Well yes, but for now we don't have any missions so not much to do.'' Tanjiro replied. Tomioka looked at Sanemi, ''How ill-mannered of you to just yell at your fellow comrades. I expect you to say sorry.'' Tomioka told Sanemi. Fuck, Sanemi thought to himself. Sanemi sighed, and hesitantly apologized. 

''I haven't gotten your names yet, may I ask?'' Tomioka politely said. ''Oh I'm Kamado Tanjiro, the boar masked beside me is Inosuke, and the other one is Zenitsu!'' Tanjiro replied. ''Very well, I'm Tomioka, I'm sure you already know who's this one beside me.'' Tomioka said. 

''Can we just leave please.'' Sanemi whispered in embarrassment. ''Okay, well we'll be going now, it's nice to meet you three.'' Tomioka bowed his head, Tanjiro and Zenitsu did the same, ''You too, come on Inosuke let's go.'' Tanjiro said.
