"Are you ok? Did they hurt you?", Pope asked, as he eventually stepped in front of Ava to look at her. The girl lifted her head and looked at Pope with big eyes. She looked confused, maybe a little frightened. Ava knotted her eyebrows and slowly shook her head.
"I'm fine. What the fuck just happened?", Ava asked in disbelief as she stared at Pope. Pope turned his head to look at his friends for help. Ava followed his gaze and saw the rest of the pogues standing a few feet away from them. Her eyes met the blue ones of JJ, who looked at her with an expression she couldn't fully read.
"I think we should tell her.", Sarah mumbled as Pope and Ava walked a little closer to them.
"No, we're done here. Get on the bike, Ava, I'm taking you home.", JJ said sternly and just walked off to where he had parked the green motorbike. The pogues exchanged some looks, but decided to stay silent. Even Ava stopped in her tracks and just looked at the blonde boy in loss of words. He seemed angry. Why was he angry at her? What the hell had just happened?
"Get on the fucking bike, Ava.", JJ repeated, when he noticed that Ava didn't have any intentions to get on the motorbike and leave.
"JJ...", John B said carefully, fearing that this was going in the wrong direction.
"I'm not going anywhere, unless you tell me what the fuck is going on.", Ava suddenly said and stared JJ down. JJ scoffed and walked back to his friends, stopping right in front of Ava. The pogues knew JJ and his outbursts, but they knew, that Ava didn't. Fearing that his behaviour would scare her, the pogues held their breaths and John B was ready to intervene.
"I'll tell you what's going on. You just got kidnapped by psychopaths because they wanted something we have! Some man held a gun to your head, just because you know me and my friends! That's what happened, do you get that?", JJ shouted and kept running his hands through his hair. Ava stayed in her spot and looked up at JJ calmly, as he shouted at her.
"I get that. I don't get, why you're angry at me, though.", Ava answered quietly and JJ suddenly stopped moving around nervously and his hands finally left his now ruffled hair. While JJs face had turned a little red from anger and his eyebrows were furrowed, JJ noticed, that Ava looked nothing like that. Her brown eyes looked into his calmly and the soft features of her face looked as peaceful as ever. Her voice sounded sweet, maybe a little vulnerable, but there wasn't a hint of anger.
"I- I'm not angry at you.", JJ whispered and watched how Ava nodded.
"Ok. Can you take me home then?", Ava asked just as quietly and stepped a little closer to him, until their hands slightly touched. JJ nodded and walked off again. Ava looked at his friends and waved goodbye at them, before she followed JJ and climbed onto the motorbike. She wrapped her arms around his stomach and held onto him tight. Tighter, than she usually would.
As they reached the small, grey, house, JJ put his right foot onto the ground, but let the motor running.
"If you won't get off, then I won't either.", Ava said into his ear, when she saw through his plan of wanting to leave as soon as possible. JJ sighed and turned off the motor.
"You're stubborn.", he said as he turned his head a little. Ava liked how his face was suddenly so close to hers and just looked at him for a moment, before she got off the motorbike. She waited for JJ to do the same, before they both walked up the pavement and the porch. Ava opened the door with her key and gestured JJ to go inside. He sighed again, but stepped inside the house anyway. The both of them sneaked through the hallway quietly, until they made it to Ava's room. It was dark, so Ava turned on the fairy lights of her bookshelf.
"Will you tell me why you're so angry?", Ava asked carefully, as she walked back to JJ who still stood right in front of the door.
"Is that even a question? Someone kidnapped you and threatened you with a gun. What else should I feel?"
