Dear Allianne Rosier,

Everything is well at school and in classes. I am excelling in all of my subjects and Evan has been making sure I know who to hang out with. We have both befriended Regulus Black. He is a polite quieter boy. But I'm sure you already know that.

It has been requested that I join the Slytherin Quidditch team by a member of the team. They had spoken to me about it after we completed a compulsory lesson of the basics of Quidditch. It was Rodolphus Lestrange that put in the request and it has been approved by not only my head of house but also by the entirety of the team.

I would appreciate if you could write back urgently with a response as the team are waiting. I promise I am not saying that to be rude I just didn't want to upset anyone else.

Yours Sincerely

Arabella Rosier

Anxiety had coursed through her veins when she had sent the letter away with her owl but it was worse now as she sat at the Slytherin table with Rodolphus at her left and Evan at her right. Barty and Regulus were sat just across from them. Barty too tired to even understand what was going on. She knew the answer was already set in stone but she still had an ounce of hope for herself.

The majestic owl flew through the great hall with grace and elegance dropping the letter with unmatchable accuracy on the table right in front of Bella. The owl had belonged to her mother for years. She had owned it when she herself studied at Hogwarts and after leaving had put a spell on the animal expanding it's lifespan greatly.

Her hands shook as she reached out to grab the letter. Shocks flew up her arms as she picked up the parchment, peeling the envelope open and pulling out the letter from inside. Her eyes skimmed through the letter, stopping on words she would think about when she was alone. What mattered was that-

"She said yes!" Evan shouted loud enough that half the pupils in the hall turned to him. "I can't believe it. We're gonna be unstoppable." He pulled her into a bone-crushing hug, squeezing her as hard as he could.

"You can't believe it?! Neither can I. Bloody hell." Bella was shocked. Of course she was happy to be able to join the team but she was just confused as to what had changed her mother's mind. Allianne was not a woman that should be messed with. She could argue about something nobody else could and her speciality was that she never lost. There wasn't a point in trying to convince her of something because once she had set her mind to it there was no going back.

"We've got practice after class today, you have to come." Rodolphus said, eyes glazed with joy.

"Of course. I'm going to head off now. I have to stop by my dorm to grab some homework I left behind." A lie. She was always lying. It was almost second nature to her, but that wasn't something she was proud of. Ashamed would be a more fitting word to describe how it made her feel to have to lie to her friends.

"We can come-" Barty began to suggest.

"No, we all need to finish our breakfast, let her go." Evan stopped him before he could even finish his sentence knowing exactly why Bella wanted to leave. He had read the letter too. He saw what his mother had said about his little sister and understood that she needed that space.

"I'll see you in class." She said smiling at Regulus who looked utterly un-convinced. He saw right through her lies no matter how thought out they were.

Her mind tried to force her feet to move faster as she left the great hall, but she didn't let it take over, she didn't need to draw attention to herself any more than she already had.
