Everything was spinning around her, or at least that's how it felt.

"This is all just some sick joke." Bella whispered, everything was spinning around her, or at least that's how it felt, "Tell me your fucking lying."

"I'm not." Rodolphus replied, reaching out to touch her arm but she pulled away before he could, ignoring the scorching pain shooting through her chest.

How could someone be so cruel? This wasn't funny.

"Go away." Her voice was gaining strength, no longer a quiet whisper, no. It was getting closer to a shout. He didn't make any move to leave, "Did you not here me?! I told you get out." Her chin wobbled but she wouldn't cry, not in front of him.

She pulled herself off of the bed, her legs shaking as she tried to stand on her own two feet.

"Bella please, sit back down. You're going to hurt yourself." She took a step backwards, away from him.

"Get away from me." Her voice trembled as she spoke.

"Bella please. Just sit down and listen to me." The desperation in his voice reached her, and although she didn't make any move to sit back down, she didn't run either.

He started explaining everything, from the beginning. Every word of it was more painful than the last, she'd lost a month of her life. A month that she will never remember.

Even after he stopped speaking she didn't make a sound. It took her a while to notice she was sat in her bed again.

"I had dreams." She mumbles, the words hardly even audible.

"Dreams?" Rodolphus repeats, his gaze flashing to hers.

"Constant dreams, but it was just.. a warm darkness." His eyes seem to fill with moisture, was he crying?

"Are you okay?" Bella said softly.

"Am I okay?" A watery laugh slips from his mouth, "I should be asking you that."

"I'm fine, it hurts here-" She points to her chest, gesturing to the area that has the worst pain.

"I'll get Pomfrey, she needs to check on you anyways." He stands up slowly, walking away.

The next hour or so was spent with Pomfrey running endless tests, by the end Bella was exhausted all over again. She wouldn't let herself sleep, in fear she may not wake up again.

"Pomfrey? When can I leave?" Even though she had only been awake here for a day, it felt like an eternity.

"We'll see how you are tomorrow. Now that you're awake it does seem that the healing is finishing up. Get some sleep Arabella." With that she turns on her heel and walks off, leaving Bella completely alone.

In the darkness of the hospital wing, her thoughts ran free but every single one brought her back to the deep underlying fear. It hadn't left her since the moment she processed what had happened.

"I can't do this." She muttered under her breath, pushing herself upright and getting off the bed. Although her movements were slow, she could still manoeuvre through the empty room. By the time her feet were hitting against the cold floor of the corridors she had gotten the hang of it again. It was like learning to walk. Every movement that before had seemed so simple, now seems to require far too much focus.

The further she walked, the worse the pain became but she didn't stop, she needed to be free of the suffocating smell in that room.

"Bella?" She hissed in a shallow breath and turned slowly to face the person she'd been hoping not to see.
