a/n- this chapter is gonna be a bit from Rodolphus' perspective just cause i know it can be a bit confusing with everything going on in the last chapter, so thought it would be helpful to see a bit from his point of view. Also this is gonna be in 1st person just to make it clear the switch between Rodolphus and Bella.

"Do that again." Her finger moved, I swear it did. It fucking twitched. I swear to merlin. "Come on princess, move your finger."

It moved.

Maybe I was seeing things, this could all just be a figment of my imagination but I didn't care. It was real to me.

"Bella-" Her name was hardly out of my mouth before a scream left hers. I was beside her in an instant, stroking her hair. She'd screamed last week as well, when I'd accidently grazed her ribs with my elbow. I didn't mean to, I'd fallen asleep against her bed and I must have moved in my sleep. But I'll never forget the sound she made, and this was much the same.

"Shh, it's okay." I brushed her hair out of her face, combing through it with my fingers. I brushed it every time I was here, and then I'd braid it before I leave. I'd taught myself how to do it for her.

"You're okay." She wasn't. Her body was refusing to heal and nobody knew why. It had been over a month since the accident, and here she was, broken rips and a fractured sternum. Apparently there was something going on in her brain that we couldn't understand. She'd been at St. Mungo's for the first few days. And they did pretty much every scan and test I'd ever heard of. But even they didn't know what was happening.

Now she lay in the hospital wing, the same bed as always. I'd brought blankets and pillows for her right at the beginning. The beds they had here just weren't good enough, if it was my choice I'd have her in my room, it's not like I spent much time there anyways.

Almost all of my day, apart from time in classes and quidditch, I was here. No matter how many times I'd get yelled at for sneaking in after visiting hours were already over. I didn't care.

"Open your eyes.. please." I didn't care if I was begging her, she could make fun of me later, and I'd thank her for it. Just to hear her voice. "I hate that your hurting and I don't know what to do." Her screams calmed as I continued playing with her hair, that always seemed to work.

The door to the hospital wing opened. We were behind a curtain so they couldn't see us, whoever it was. But pretty much everyone that came in here was looking for Bella. They always were.

I watched the shadow of the boy walk up to the curtain and pull it back, revealing himself.

"Crouch." What the fuck did he think he was doing here? She wouldn't want him here, so neither did I.

"I've just come to see how she's doing." Yeah that's why he's here. Even though he hasn't once turned up for the whole month she's been in here.

"She has a fucking name."

"I want to know how Bella-" I cut him off before he could even finish his sentence.

"Not her name. Not to you anyways."

"What are you on about? I've always called her Bella."

"I seem to remember a certain conversation where she told you that only her friends call her Bella. And well.. you aren't one of those are you? No." I was being harsh, maybe too much so. But I didn't care. He'd hurt her, and that wasn't acceptable.

"Bet you don't even know why she's mad at me." I didn't respond so he continued, "I told her daddy she was friends with those gryffindor bitches. And you know something? I never even fucking said it to him. I mentioned it to my Dad. And he just so happened to tell hers. Not my fault her dad is a mad man."
