"Please?" Bella says, giving Pomfrey her best puppy dog eyes, which for Bella, probably isn't all that convincing

"Arabella I'm really not sure about this.." She says hesitantly, clearly not fond of the idea.

"I promise I won't do anything to hurt myself further. And I'm basically cured. I just need to be back in my normal routine, as boring as classes are."

"I suppose.. I could let you do just one day and then further assess this evening." She agrees and Bella feels the relief deep in her bones.

"Thank you, hopefully I'll still be in one piece by tonight." She calls out as she leaves the hospital wing before Pomfrey can change her mind.

A half an hour later she's sat in a classroom, her leg bouncing, it's empty besides from her and Slughorn. It's her first lesson of the day- of the month really- walking around the school grounds for a while seemed a better decision than walking into herbology late; unfortunately for Bella, that meant she ended up at her potions class early.

Slowly, students start trickling into the classroom, one by one, and then finally, among the last students to arrive was the boy that she sits beside - Sirius.

"It's been too long Bella." He says, flopping into his chair beside her.

"You say that as if I didn't see you last night." She rolls her eyes and he winks, as always more dramatic than anyone she's ever seen.

Marlene turns around in her chair, her gaze flicking between the two of them, "I'd say I'm surprised but the tension between the two of you is insane."

"I didn't fuck him." She tries to interrupt, "And if there's any tension, believe me, it's one sided."

"Don't worry girl, maybe one day he'll like you back." Her smile seems genuine.

"I don't- " Sirius interrupts her.

"Yeah Bella, maybe one day I'll like you back." She glares at him, deciding there's no point trying to salvage this situation and she may as well just back down now.

"Anyways, what are we up to?" Considering she hasn't had any lessons in a while, she doesn't have any idea what they're doing in class.

"Um.. Potions?" Sirius says cluelessly.

"You, Sirius Black, are useless." She tries to fight the smile but fails, rolling her eyes at his antics. For a second she contemplates asking Remus, but then her mind flicks back to last night and the shit he said to her. 'Not yet' she thinks to herself, knowing that if she were to speak to him now, the fight inside of her wouldn't back down and that's not what either of them need.

Before Sirius can defend himself, the voice of Professor Slughorn echoes through the classroom, silencing everyone's conversations, "So, open your books to page 186, today we will be attempting to create the fire protection potion. The instructions are in the book so you shouldn't need much help from me today, let's just call this an independent lesson. I am only to be spoken to in an emergency. And you'll be working with whoever you sit with so don't even think about asking me if you can choose your groups."

"Lovely." Bella mutters under her breath, quickly reading the ingredients list from the book and heading over to the cupboards to find what she needed.

"You look better." At the sound of a voice she spins around, seeing Rodolphus stood behind her.

"Considering you watched me in a coma for a month.. I'd hope so." She tries to lighten his intense mood.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there this morning, I just didn't know if you wanted me there. You were upset yesterday and I didn't want to make you feel like that again."
