Don't forget to read the first book 'What Remains' as not to get confused!

When Reaper didn't come back, the council panicked. "Where is he, where is the Painful God of Death?!" Asgore demanded to know. "I-I haven't f-found anything y-yet, sir." Alphys stammered. "Papyrus, he's your brother, you should know?" Undyne turned to the Painless God of Death who was fixing his scarf. "I Wish I Knew... We Lost Contact Nine Months Ago..." Gerson rubbed his beard. "Nine months, you say...?" Gaster's thoughts seemed to run through the same vein, only he had more insight on why. "After he made up with the God of Destruction, Error?" He inquired. "Made up...?" Asgore didn't know the two even knew each other. "Yes... Sans and Error are friends... perhaps more." Gaster informed the God of the Skies. "If what you say is true, then the timeline would match..." Gerson frowned. This wasn't shaping up to be a good thing. "If S-Sans and E-Error are h-having a ch-child... that c-could mean th-the end o-of the M-Multiverse..." Something that powerful... it couldn't exist... "Find Sans. That child must be destroyed immediately!" Asgore commanded. Papyrus was very scared as to what that could mean for his missing brother.

Reaper smiled as his baby pressed against his ribcage, a soul string attaching the two together as she fed off his magic. Her bones were a soft grey color, the interior of her sockets a bright red. Her eyelights themselves were yellow with blue as the pupil. A dark blue skull decorated her foreskull and her phalanges, and ribs were yellow with a red spine and hands. That was his perfect little angel... "h-ow i-s ex-ist?" ("how is exist?") Exist. That was the name they choose for her because she deserved to exist just like any other baby. Nobody could deprive her of that. Reaper promised her that. He looked over at Error with a smile. "she's doing fine... a little sweetheart." Error softly rubbed her skull. "she-s ro-ck-ing he-r p-rin-ces-s on-es-ie to-o, i s-ee..." ("she's rocking her princess onesie too, i see...") Reaper chuckled, the vibrations in his chest making Exist squirm and whine. "oh shh, shh baby, don't cry..." Reaper bounced his apparently touch-sensitive child lightly. "she gets that from you~" Error blushed. "sh-shu-t u-p..." ("shut up...") Reaper leaned over and kissed his mate before handing over the child.

Error placed Exist in her cradle, which was naturally made of strings, and let it sway back and forth until the baby fell asleep. "ho-w a-re yo-u ho-ld-ing u-p? fe-el fu-nn-y a-t al-l, he-ar vo-ic-es, an-ythi-ng?" ("how are you holding up? feel funny at all, hear voices, anything?") Reaper shook his head. "no anti-void side effects. i promise." He'd been in here for nine months, he could see how Error was worried, but he'd been in and out long enough to be more or less unaffected. He still had a job to do, pregnant or not. The balance had to be kept. He avoided the others while had did his job. His brother included. He didn't want Papyrus caught up in his problems. He knew the council would have a problem with his little Exist, who he knew would grow up to be the strongest monster in the entire Multiverse. With his ability to kill whatever he touched and Error's ability to destroy entire universes... they would find that baby a threat. Error knew that look. He'd seen it a lot lately. "i wo-n-t le-t an-yth-ing ha-pp-en t-o he-r re-ap, th-at i-s m-y pro-mis-e t-o y-ou." ("i won't let anything happen to her reap, that is my promise to you.")
