Falling For You

Chapter 5🍁

Josie let out a groan as she got into Hope's passenger seat on that sunny September morning. The shorter girl glanced over at her friend with a raised eyebrow.

"Is something wrong Josette?"

"I don't feel like going to school today" the brunette put on her seatbelt and leaned back in her seat, crossing her arms.

Hope sat there for a moment in silence before putting on her sunglasses "how about we skip? we could go get breakfast, go to the aquarium, and maybe end our day off at the beach."

"What about our parents? we'll get in trouble" the taller girl pouted at her best friend who just smiled and shrugged in response

"We'll be fine, plus the worst that can happen is we get grounded," the girl said, starting at her car and pulling off in the opposite direction of the school.

"That's true..." Josie said nodding.

"There's this beautiful diner a few miles out that we should go order from, they have the best hash browns I've ever tasted," Hope said.

Hope was right the diner did have some pretty good hash browns. The two were sitting in a booth in the back of the diner as they ate their breakfast.

Josie ordered hash brown, eggs, and toast while Hope went with a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant with a hashbrown

"The aquarium is free admission until 3 so we have some time until then," the shorter girl said before taking a bite of her sandwich.

"And how do you know that?"

"Okay... I was going to ask if you wanted to go after school but since we aren't going I thought we could just go there after we eat" Hope shrugged.

"I don't think I've ever been to an aquarium," Josie said thinking back.

"What?? never? in your life?"

"Nope" the girl chuckled "my parents both worked a lot to keep a roof over my head most of my childhood, and I didn't get to do a whole lot, and when we did it wasn't as exciting as going to the aquarium..."

"Well I'm glad I'm going to be there to watch you experience your first time at an aquarium, you're going to love it" Hope squeezed her hand and gave her a small smile.

There it was again the weird feeling in her stomach, it seemed to come around every time Hope even made contact with her.

She needs to get her shit together.

When they got past the admission, Hope took Josie's hand, interlocking it with hers before leading the girl down a hallway "let's go see the sharks first."

"Sharks?" the brunette gulped.

"Don't worry I won't let it get you" Hope winked at her before turning face forward and walking into a hallway that was completely glass as they looked around, water, coral reefs, and sharks were all around them.

"Woah..." Josie said and looked around at the different fish she was seeing "it's like we are in the ocean..."

"Yeah, this place is like a rehabilitation center, they are trying to make the environment the same as out there so the animals know what to do."
