Josie was miserable as she walked into school the day after she and Hope had skipped and went to the aquarium. And the girl didn't even know why she was feeling like this.

When the brunette turned the corner her steps slowed as she saw Hope and Landon kissing against the girl's locker, their bodies were so close it made Josie uncomfortable.

Feeling bile rise in her throat Josie turned back around and made her way toward the library, when she entered and scanned the room she noticed the only seat available was next to Penelope.

The brunette took a deep breath before making her way toward Penelope, and the empty seat "is this seat taken?"

Penelope looked up from her notebook "oh no, it's not you can sit" she gave the girl a small movie before looking back down at her notebook.

"Thanks," Josie said before sitting down, and setting her bag on the table.

"You're Josie, right? you gave me coffee the other day" the raven-haired girl said suddenly.

"Y-Yeah that was me," the brunette said tapping her hand on her thigh.

"Thanks for that by the way, I had a pop quiz and that surely helped me stay awake" she chuckled a bit.

"You're welcome" the brunette smiled before opening her book bag and pulling out her harry potter book.

"You like harry, potter??" Penelope said.

"Uh- yeah! since I was like 8."

"I'm obsessed with harry potter I've read all the books, and watched all the movies at least a thousand times" she chuckled.

"What's your house?" Josie asked.

"I'm a Ravenclaw, you?"

"I'm a Hufflepuff."

"Oh obviously," the girl said as if it was the obvious answer.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You give off Hufflepuff vibes" she shrugged.

"How so?"

"You seem like a nice, quiet person, plus those cheeks just gave it away" she grinned.

Josie's mouth dropped open "okay I'm gonna try not to be offended by that."

Penelope started laughing "I'm only kidding-"

"Josie I need to talk to you" they heard a voice and saw Hope walk up to their table, and take Josie's hand into her own before pulling her out of the library.

"Ow, what did you need?" the brunette pouted.

"Nothing... Just saving you from that conversation..."

"Saving me?" Josie continued to pout "we were actually having a really nice conversation I think."

"Didn't look like it from where I was watching" Hope shrugged.

"You were watching?"

"Only for a moment... but that's not the point-"

As Josie was about to say something the bell rang signaling they needed to be in class. The brunette sighed and looked at her friend before they both walked into their first-period class. Josie was confused as to why Hope interrupted.

Wasn't it the goal to get Penelope to like her?

Not wanting to think too far into it Josie just walked into her class and took her seat in the back with the auburnette who was glancing at her. The brunette was about to ask what was wrong when Mrs. Lewis walked into the room.

"Okay will everyone take out their textbooks and turn to page 391," she said setting her purse and laptop on her desk.

When school had ended Hope went back to get Penelope to like her mode, which admittedly confused Josie as she thought back to the library incident.

"Okay Landon wants to hang out today, so I want you to invite Penelope along so we can all go to this laser tag place."

Josie looked at the girl like she was crazy "what! I barely know her and you want me to ask her to come to hang out with a bunch of strangers?"

"Your conversation in the library made you two seem real close" Hope crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes.

"What's that supposed to mean?" she furrowed her eyebrows "that was one conversation we had! that's totally different than knowing each other."

Hope sighed "look teenagers these days are down to pretty much do anything, just ask and I'm sure she'll say yes."

"She's not going to say yes."

-

Penelope did end up saying yes.

Much to Josie's surprise. All the girl did was ask and the ravenette seemed all for it which kind of concerned the girl.

What if she had been a kidnapper and Penelope just agreed to come with her not knowing her motives?

Josie shook her head and made her way into the parking lot of the school where she saw Hope leaning against her car waiting for her.

When the shorter girl noticed her she put her phone in her pocket and held her arms up "well?"

"She said yes."

"Boom! I told you! now you owe me 10 dollars."

"That was never stated in our conversation," Josie said getting into the auburnettes car. Hope got into the driver's seat.

"I deserve some kind of reward for knowing what she'd say."

"You can have bragging rights."

This proved to be the worst thing Josie has ever said. The next few minutes were filled with Hope chanting about how smart she was and how she was always right.
