Josie and Penelope had been going out for a week now and Hope was not happy, she, of course, didn't show how unhappy she was since she wanted to support her friend but she wasn't. They hadn't spent much time together since Josie was spending more time with the cheerleader. In conclusion, Hope just missed her best friend.
"Babe look at this meme" Landon said showing his phone screen to his girlfriend. Hope glanced at the screen and gave him a small chuckle before focusing her gaze back on what she was staring at. Josie was sitting with Penelope at one of the school benches. The two girls were having a conversation about something on the brunette's laptop and Hope couldn't help but just stare at the two, the cheerleader was making Josie laugh. That should be her making the girl laugh! That was her best friend, not Penelope.
Having enough of the sight Hope stood up with her backpack and made her way to the two ignoring the calls of Landon asking where she was going. Josie looked at her as she was approaching and smiled at her "Hey Hope."
"Hey," Hope said glancing at the two "I was just wondering if you wanted to do something after school?" She looked at Josie. The brunette frowned "I'm sorry Hope... Penelope and I were actually going to see a movie after school..." she said and Penelope spoke up "You can come with us if you want."
"Uh... no that's okay, have fun you two," she said before walking toward the entrance of the school. She made her way to her locker and scoffed while shaking her head.
"What's got you all upset," a girl said who was sitting on the floor against the lockers. She thinks the girl's name is Amy. Or Maya? She wasn't sure. Hope sighed and grabbed the books she needed for her first period out of her locker "Just friend drama I guess" She closed the locker shut and leaned against it. Maya closed her laptop and looked up at her "Need to talk?" She offered.
"As tempting as that is I don't really feel like talking to a stranger about my problems."
"People do it with therapists what makes me so different?" The teen smirked. Hope rolled her eyes "Well for starters I doubt you have a doctorate... but fine" she said and slid down the locker until she was sitting down "My best friend has practically been ignoring me since she got a girlfriend and it's been a little upsetting... we've literally done everything together since kindergarten."
"Have you told her about this?"
"No, I'm trying to be a good supportive friend."
"Well talk to her about it" Maya shrugged "and if nothing changes... well... sometimes people just grow apart it's a part of life." Hope shook her head I don't want to grow apart... especially from her." The curly-haired girl looked at her "Then talk to her."

Josie and Penelope had been friends for about a week now and the brunette was actually really enjoying the girl's company. They surprisingly had a lot in common and she could actually talk about her feelings about Hope to someone she knew wouldn't judge her.
"Dude looks," Penelope said as she pointed to a tweet that was on Josie's laptop. The brunette looked at the screen "They are making a Harry Potter tv show." Josie shook her head "Why are Hollywood writers nowadays the most unoriginal people to ever exist" she said. The ravenette chuckled "I don't know but I can already tell this show is going to be terrible" she said and Josie also chuckled.
Josie turned her head and saw Hope walking toward her. God, she looked so pretty today she thought before giving the girl a smile "Hi" she said softly "Hi" Hope replied.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to do something after school?" the auburnette looked at her. Josie bit her lip and frowned. She wishes she could say yes but she already made plans.
"I'm sorry Hope... Penelope and I were actually going to see a movie after school..." She saw a look of disbelief cross her best friend's face.
"You can come with us if you want," Penelope said not looking up from the computer. Hope just shook her head "Uh... no that's okay, have fun you two" she said before walking away. Josie just watched her best friend walk away wanting to call her back after seeing how upset she looked.
"Wow she looked crushed, maybe we should cancel the movie and you go over to her house and surprise her with a movie night for something," Penelope said. Josie looked at her friend "You'd be okay with that?" She asked and the girl chuckled "Yeah, I'm okay with that it's not like we are actually dating JoJo." The brunette nodded before taking out a notepad and writing down some snacks that Hope liked so she could get them at the store later after school.
-
At the store, Josie ended up grabbing a bag of assorted chocolates, popcorn, and some of these gross peanut butter snack cakes that Hope loved so much. When she was done she walked all the way to Hope's house which was a little over a mile.
One mile and almost getting hit by a truck three times she had finally made it to her best friend's house. She walked up the steps and knocked on the giant door, a moment later the door was opened by Klaus Mikaelson, Hope's dad.
"Hi, Mr. Mikaelson is Hope in?" She asked nicely.
"Josette I've told you to call me Klaus I've known you far too long for you to still be calling me Mr.Mikaelson," he said before stepping aside to let her in the mansion "She's upstairs getting some homework done but I'm sure she will be delighted to see you as she always is." Josie smiled and stepped into the house. She made her way up the large staircase and to the door she knew all too well.
When she opened the door she nearly let out a shriek at what she saw. Her eyes widened at the scene in front of her. Hope had her shirt off as she straddled Landon's waist. Hope looked toward her as she saw the curly-haired boy kiss up the girl's neck "shit" the girl said and pushed her boyfriend off before pulling on her shirt "Jo." The brunette was looking up at the ceiling so she didn't see any more than she had.
"You should go Landon" she heard her best friend say before she heard the sound of the window opening and closing. She had been staring at the ceiling for a good five minutes before she heard Hope walk closer to her "You can look at me, Jo."
"I'm okay," she said. She then help slim hand cup her jaw and turns her head to face her "I'm decent" she chuckled and Josie just swallowed at the close contact she had missed more than she would like to admit.
"I didn't know you two were having..." the brunette swallowed again not being able to get the words out her mouth. Just thinking of what they were about to do made bile rise in the back of her throat. Hope sighed and sat on her bed "Well that's what happens when you practically ignore me for a week."
Josie walked closer "You are dramatic... I did not ignore you."
"It felt like it, why did you? I thought if we ever had boyfriends or girlfriends that we wouldn't let that affect us" she gestured between them "doesn't seem like you are living up to your promise."
"I know which is why I canceled my plans with Penelope to spend time with you..." Josie said holding up the bag of snacks as a peace offering "I don't know how melted the chocolate is... I kind of walked here but I got your favorites." Hope took the bag and looked through it and smiled at her "You got the nutter butter cakes" she asked and Josie nodded.
The auburnette got up and hugged her best friend "I love you."
Josie felt her breath hitch "I love you too" she said before her arms came to hug the girl back. Hope pulled back slightly "But if you ignore me again I will not let you off the hook so easily," she said in a warning tone before going back to hug her best friend.
