Song of Chapter: Mess Is Mine by Vance Joy

Monday has arrived in such short notice. I wake up to the sight of the sun shining through my blindes. Today is the day Logan and I will talk about our date. I can't believe I'm going to go on a date with Logan. Although, I'm afraid he only said yes to say yes. I've heard all sorts of things about him. I've heard that he goes on dates with girls all the time. At least every month, he goes out with three girls. Not boyfriend and girlfriend but dates. I hope I'm not one of those random girls.

I get out of bed to get ready for school. I pick out a simple outfit for me to wear. I pick out a light blue shirt, black high-waisted skirt, and black flats. I decited to not do anything with my hair, and I keep my hair straight like it normaly is. I put on very little make-up. I'm not the biggest fan of make-up. It makes me feel fake when ever I put a lot on which can be normal for someone else. I see girls with normal amount of make-up, and that's perfectly fine! I just hate it when girls put a butt load of make-up on they look like they painted their face. They need to calm down with their make-up.

I hurry downstairs and see mom at the tabel looking at her phone. She then signs, "It's okay, maybe next time." She taps on her phone and places her hands on her face. I go to the table and pat the table. She looks at me.

"What's wrong?" I ask. Mom sighs and shakes her head.

"Bryan isn't coming home for Thanksgiving nor Christmas break. He doesn't want to come home. He wants to spend time with his girlfriend, Heather, like he doesn't see her enough," mom says.

"You know Bryan has been like this for all of his life. Not keeping promises like he should. He'll come around. Maybe he will send his gifts to us when the time comes," I suggest. Mom shruggs.

"I highly doubt he will do that," she says. "Anyway, breakfast is ready if you want some."

"Thanks."

Mom stands up from her chair and goes into her room. I could tell that she was getting ready to cry. I'm going to have to have a little talk with Bryan after school.

I finish breakfast with the family, really just my siblings, and I start to head off to school. My worst luck I get stuck behind three different buses stopping every two minutes or so, but finally after ten minutes of bus driving, I can get to school. I took me five more minutes just to get there. I park my car closest to the building and walk into school. I see Emma and Michael talking into each other. Emma looks like she is about to burst into tears. I walk over to them, but they go their seperate ways before I could get to them fast enough. Michael is heading is way to frist peirode while Emma just walks into her frist class. I might just ask Michael what's going on. I go to my locker to get my stuff and head off to class. I see Michael sitting at his table. I didn't see Logan. I walk over to Michael.

"Mike, what's going on? I saw Emma. She looked like she was about ot burst into tears!" I exclaim. He sighs.

"It's a long story," he says. I look at the clock.

"We have eight minutes. We have time," I say while pulling a chair next to him so I can see what he has to say. He looks straight at me.

"Well, there are two things going on. One, Logan's dad got into a car reck this last night. He was over at my house when it happened. He got a call this morning from his mom saying he is at the hopsital not doing well at the moment. Logan wanted me to tell you that he will text you later as well. I told Emma and she heart broken. The three of us have been friends since we were three. Logan's dad was like her second father. She took it harder than I expected. Two, her brother left today to move to New York. So, today is just an emotional day."
