in order to begin the seance, we had tenko, the spiritual medium, position herself as a turtle within the magic circle, so her head touched the marker stone. then shuichi and kokichi placed the cage over tenko. and after that, i placed the white cloth over the cage. then all four of us placed the wooden statue of the dog god atop the cage. afterwards, we stood in the four corners of the room. kokichi and shuichi blew out the candles. finally, we all sang the caged child song.
