I've come back home early. Lauren seemed so eager for me to stay, and who am i to deprive her of that? Plus, being in an area full of weapons wasn't a good idea when Luka decided to text me yet again to ask for visitation rights of Max.
But that's a story for another day.
I head upstairs, thinking she's working, but I hear a smash...i hope Lauren's okay.
After checking the bedroom, i realise she's in a session, except the doors to her separate dungeon are wide open.
Instead of seeing someone strapped to a bed i see Lauren sat on the floor with her knees tugged to her chest and her head in her hands.
"Lauren? What's wrong?" she doesn't hear me, her body only shakes more and more, "The thoughts won't stop, they won't stop."
I rush over to her side, "Lauren, i need you to breathe for me-"
"She's dead, she's dead, she's dead..."
"Lauren, talk to me, please baby?"
"Bang. Bang. Bang..."
"There's no banging. It's just you and me here. No banging." i take her trembling hands into my own, forcing them steady.
"Look into my eyes. You say it always calms you because they're blue like the sea in Greece we went to. Remember? Max was only 2 back then and you took us snorkelling."
"Y-yeah..."
"And you nearly drowned laughing because a jellyfish tried to sting my bum." in all the discomfort of everything, she still manages to stifle a laugh.
My plan is seeming to work more and more as my girlfriend heads my every word, slowly becoming more tranquil in her state of mind...
"You were so adamant that we take Max with us, even though he was only tiny. You said you wanted him to see the fish and the ocean because he loved it that much at the underwater restaurant."
"I- i built that for you..."
"It was one of the best gifts you've ever given me. I felt right at home being there with you and Max."
"I did too."
Lauren's breathing calms down to a reasonable level, her inhales and exhales becoming steady.
I fetch her a glass of water, sitting beside her on the floor.
I tuck away some hairs behind her ear like she always does to me, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, just had a freak attack, and i don't think my submissive will be back..."
"Why do you say that?"
"No reason. I tried calling you but my damn phone broke."
"I came home early to surprise you. I saw how worried you were before i left and now i know why...i would have stayed if you were honest with me."
"I figured that you leaving for work would be an eventuality and i'd just have to cope with that." how she manages to talk in her refined and mannered way after what a stressful day she's had amazes me.
"You shouldn't just have to 'cope', Laur. I tell you what, get your shoes on and meet me downstairs. I wanna take you somewhere."
"Where?"
"You're always taking me places i don't know, how about a little switching of the tables?"
I have to say, i see the excitement when Lauren never tells me about surprises.
Having control over a dominatrix isn't something you'd find laying around on the floor like a 2p coin.
We arrive at our destination, and i can visibly see the confusion on Lauren's face, "The PD? What are we doing at your work?"
