Avalon slowly turns to Evergray. "You're WHAT?"
I would have gotten mad at him.
This is serious.
But as I stare at the ground, still in shock, I hear wheezing.
I look up, and Naomi is laughing, or trying to.
This really is happening, huh?
Anne appears at my side. Did she teleport, or was I just not paying attention?
It was probably the latter.
"Anne, you told me.. that it wasn't possible." I start.
She nods. "Well, I thought it wasn't. We never attempted it for Elizabeth. But a few weeks ago, Linda found something in her spell book. How could I have known, right?"
I take this in.
She wasn't lying to me, she just didn't know.
"I was..." I trail off as I hear someone else.
"Couldn't I heal them, so we don't have to wrap them like a mummy? That's a lot of ground to cover, they look more crystal than human." Lisa attempts to reason with Ydris.
Evergray says something, but I can't hear it.
Ydris scoffs. "As if you could fight that much Pandoric energy with your little Soul Rider powers."
Alex breaks off from her discussion with Rania. "Watch it, Ydris. You forget your old man lover over here's part of us?"
Evergray laughs, then starts coughing violently. Nobody bats an eye. Normal Evergray activity.
Anne frowns. "Nobody ever say 'old man lover' again."
I like this. I'm still confused and scared, but I'm distracted by the humor. This group always ends up getting silly eventually.
"Well, that's what he is, isn't he? Old man, Ydris' lover.." Alex says the last word mockingly.
Avalon pulls his hood down further. "Enough of this.. Aren't we supposed to be helping Naomi?"
Linda looks down at them. "Naomi, what do you think about this?"
They do something with their hands.
Linda looks so confused. "What the fuck does woomy mean?"
