Immediately, I'm suspicious of Evergray and Avalon. What does Evergray know that we don't?
I try to look into the past and I get nothing.
They obviously don't want us to know something.
I guess it may be better that way. Curiosity killed the cat.
I focus my attention on Naomi. They look fine. I guess what made them so terrified earlier was.. suddenly being alive.
As if my Soul Sight recognized that I still want to know, I get a flash of something. I can't figure it out.
Until.. I do.
I walk away from Lisa's bed and to Avalon. "Show me your hands." I say, as if that's a completely normal request.
"What? Why?" He probably knows that I know.
I don't respond. I look, hopefully, directly into his eyes.
He caves and puts his hands out in front of me.
Yeah.
That's definitely an engagement ring!
I'm mildly upset. "How could you not tell us? This is really important!"
Evergray snickers again. "I was there."
That man is zooted, I don't know if I believe him.
Anne looks up. "Huh?"
"What?" Alex is equally confused.
"Avalon..." I press.
Avalon pulls his hood down again. Stop doing that. Void.
"Why do we always become the topic of conversation with you guys..?" He asks, dodging our unspoken questions.
Evergray coughs. "Maybe because it's funny!" He says, then starts coughing again.
Ydris seems to be tuning us out. That's good, at least. No matter how funny this is, he's kind of being a Magic Surgeon right now.
