A week before the twins' christening Alessandra and James decided to have a luncheon where they invited everyone who wasn't invited to the christening just to show them that they were also important to their little family and then the planning of the whole thing came, if Mary had her way Alessandra would have pulled her hair out she wanted everything you'd think they were planning a wedding or even a coronation with the ideas Mary was throwing in, at one point Alessandra was even sure she'd suggest a gala afterwards, with all the wild ideas she was throwing in, like arrive by carriage so the people can see you, which was way out there, have a fly past which Alessandra and James were both against but once Alessandra accidentally brought it up during tea with the queen she immediately thought it was a great idea, and now the christening was being treated like a mini trooping of the colour, I mean what was next a horse guard parade, a public holiday or even a white tie gala, which Alessandra wouldn't mind, just cause she'd wear a tiara, she did love her tiaras, but the main point was the little intimate affair that was supposed to take place was now turned into something for the whole country, yes she didn't mind cause she was a public servant but she didn't want to push this onto her children just yet.
Alessandra fixed her dress sleeves with a sigh as she looked at herself in the mirror, yes she'd picked the dress cause she liked it but looking at it now made her a bit self conscious, it looked to be too big which in turn made her too small, and it would be noticeable amongst the tall men and women in this stupid family, she was the shortest one in her family and but with her in laws it was debatable as they were too many to measure, I mean she'd only spoken to some of them once or twice, but that didn't matter, and it also didn't help seeing as how some writers who were under the Middletons pockets wrote about it, like oh she doesn't have the elegance Catherine has cause she's not one hundred and seventy something instead she was a small a hundred and fifty one centimetres while the person who wrote it was a different issue all together, and Alessandra had stated countless of times that she wasn't going to engage in these stupid press wars but with how hard the Middletons were pushing she was bound to push back and it would be dirty, for now she'd let everyone enjoy this joyous day with children, let Kate enjoy her sons christening and then the fake smile would fall off, and you might think why is she going to punish Kate for her mothers sins well why did Kate never tell her mother to stop or even come to Alessandra and offer her apologies and as medievally as it might sound offer her allegiance to Alessandra instead she was happy to let her mother bully Alessandra as long as the press would keep her name out of it, unless it was flattering. She would learn very soon.
