A hunter falls in love with a vampire.

Hunting 101- they don't care!

Rubie POV:

I had juts come back from another intense training session with Amelia. I was used to being ten time quicker , stronger and my reflexes ten times sharper but since I was gone she had really improved.

I got back into the house and into the shower. I hadn't ever told my parents that I was hunting. I guess they already knew. My grades had dropped and I was distant from them all. I have a little sister named Marianna , I call her Maria for short. My mother told her the stories just like she did me but my sister never thought anything of it. Maria doesn't know about the supernatural and I plan on keeping it that way even if that means that I barely talk to her , which don't.

I was back in school today after having yet another day off. Seeing Dean on the second day of term really threw me so I decided to skip the third , forth and the fifth! The school called my mother as they where wondering why my attendance was so low.

"Apparently if you are off for 4 out of 5 days of school , your attendance percentage is a cause for concern!" I explain , well ranted to Cassey and Eliza as we reached my locker.

"Well Rubie you have been in for one day all year , what do you expect?"

"Well I am in today aren't I cassey? So technically two days all year!" I replied to her , shoving two fingers in front of her face.

"You know there is more than one thing of yours that is a cause for concern." I heard a smug voice said. I couldn't see who it was because they where behind the open locker door but I knew who it was. Dean.

"Go away!" I said sternly as Cassey and Eliza looked at each other.

I slammed the locker door shut and then began to rapidly walk off with Eliza and Cassey almost running to keep up.

"Rubie. Let me explain. You owe me that much!" Dean pleaded from behind as he easily took over Eliza and Cassey.

"I don't owe you anything and you know why. And I suggest unless you want the whole school and certain type of dangerous people capable of hunting knowing too then you will you will leave me alone. Got it?" I said as I turned around and coming to a sudden halt , causing Dean to stop unexpectedly and cause Cassey and Eliza to fall into him as they tried to keep up.

"Your a hunter?" Dean said to me in disbelief before noticing the presence of Cassey and Eliza and rushing off.

"What does he mean by hunter?" Cassey said , not understanding anything. Eliza understood it though. Eliza figured it out. Eliza just figured out everything : including him being a vampire. I tilted me head at her and she simply just shook hers.

Eliza POV:

That was the one thing that I had never understood about Rubie. Even though she had boyfriends before it was never like it was when she was with Dean. Of course nobody ever met him but it was obvious that she loved him , she would go on about him and you could just ... tell. Then one day she was no longer happy. She was miserable and there was no more dean , nobody knew why yet now I do. He was a vampire and she was a hunter , the only way she could protect the one she loved was to protect his secret and how could she do that if he was around her and she was around hunters? How could she protect her vampire boyfriend if she was a vampire hunter.

After the class that me and Rubie had together I decided to talk to her before we went and met Cassey.

"Rubie wait! Rubie , I know about Dean!" I called as I caught up with her. She turned around and then pulled me into the empty classroom.

"You cant tell anyone Eliza !"

"Don't tell me what to do! I am pissed at you! When I found out I was a witch you were the first person that I told. I knew you were a hunter yet I didn't even think about not trusting you with my secret. That could be a danger to my life and I still told you but you don't tell me this. God Rubie what where you thinking?" I asked her. It was true when I found out I was a witch I was so shaken and sad and scared but I still told her.

"Eliza , please this wasn't my secret to tell. You know about me , what I am , what I do. I tell you every part of that. I even tell you about things with Amelia and Andre. Eliza I tell you things that keep you alive. We were raised hunters. They don't care if you have good intentions or bad ones they believe that in the end you go through with the bad ones. That supernatural are dangerous and if we don't kill them first. Then they will kill us all! If you tell anyone about Dean they will kill him. Then god knows what they will do to me for not telling them about him. Just think I they find out that I kept Dean being a vampire a secret how long till they think how many other did she protect and they figure out about you! What will you do then because I have fought alongside these people , trained with them and you wont win against them." The words that Rubie spoke to me where very true and I knew this , my mother warned me of this when I first tapped into my power. Yet one question was running around my mind.

"If there like that when why are you one? Rubie you know all supernatural aren't bad only some and as for that some , that small fraction I think if you compare the facts and the numbers it is the same size of the fraction f bad humans , killers who are humans. Or hunters, the ones that went bad. If you want to protect me and Dean then why are you still helping the other hunters? Why are you still killing , or 'hunting' as you like to call it , other supernatural creatures that someone else wants to protect? " I asked her and as I did I couldn't help but shout.

"Because Eliza that small amount are strong enough to end us all! Like you I believe that the others shouldn't be killed yet the hunters don't believe that and you cant turn on your own people without securing your own destruction. I am the only thing that is stopping them from figuring you out. The only thing that is stopping them from figuring out what Dean is because lets be honest he didn't hide it very well the first time and I love you both to much to see you get hurt , or even worse killed!" Rubie explained her reasons and then was interrupted by a voice walking into the door. It was Dean and he had heard the conversation with his vampire hearing from the hallway. He heard her say she still loved him even though she knew he was a vampire.

"I couldn't help but over hear-" Dean was cut off by me shaking my head to him as a embarrassed , fragile and scared Rubie turned to him in shock , love and pain.
