A hunter falls in love with a vampire.

Rubie Groston

Third person POV:

Rubie used to be quite a normal girl. It was like she was the teen. Rubie always was a loud mouth and fun. She was wreck less but that all changed and it didn't change that long ago either. It all changed when she fell in love with someone named Dean , Dean Longsgate.

Ever since she found out about vampires she began training with her friend. Amelia became a mythologist hunter with her brother Andre. They had memorized most supernatural creatures that where known and could recognise them like a doctor does an illness. Yet they weren't all boring. Mythologist hunters , also known as theorologists needed to have basic training. They where good , they could stand their ground and fight like the hunters that they where! Rubie took another approach to hunting she put her life on hold for three years why she began to train. Rubie became one of the strongest fighters that had ever been.

Hunting was everything to Rubie Groston. When she put herself back into civilization she met Dean Longsgate. After school she would go on a long run around the park that she lived by. It was winter so it was dark and late when she came home and then was when she met him. After a while of them dating she found out his secret and it shook her to the bone. Leaving her like she was today. After she found out about Dean she couldn't be around him. He didn't know she knew and he didn't know she was a hunter. Rubie left and went away with her family away for the summer and this was the week she returned. Eliza was one of her best friends she was also a witch. Rubie had known she was a witch since they made friends at the age of 12 but Eliza hadn't tapped into her power until Rubie left. They had another friend named Cassey who had no idea about the supernatural and they wanted to keep it that way.

Rubie POV:

It was today that I had been dreading. Ever since I got on that plane it was today I wasn't looking forward too. Today was the day I had to go back to school. I have been back home for a week and thankfully I haven't seen Dean. I have been training with Amelia and Andre and they are getting better and better.

Eliza has told me that her witch training has really taken off and she know can draw power from the elements. This was great she could be a great asset to us like she likes to remind us , but I would never let her come hunting it is ar too risky and much too dangerous.

I walked into the school and met up with my friends. Even though Cassey didn't know about the supernatural she did know about Dean. All she knew was that he was my boyfriend and then something happened and I am avoiding him. Like I have been doing for months and yes he has no idea why but maybe he'll catch on to it. Then again this is Dean we are talking about maybe he wont.

"Rubie!" Eliza and Cassey shouted in unison and excitement at the fact that it was the first time we had seen each other since school let out last year.

"Hey , guys!" I smiled at them and hugged them. It was the second day of term. I always missed the first day as it was too much stress and pressure and there were reunions going on everywhere! I was latish again so before I had chance to talk to my friends the bell went and took me away to my first class.

The first lesson was a drag. I wasn't doing amazing in school because all my effort and time went into training and hunting so I didn't really have time for homework. I walked over to my friends they tried to tell me something but then the bell went again. Damn that stupid thing , it's like it waits for me to begin a conversation before it starts ringing or dinging or whatever that weird noise is. I cut off my friends rambling "Okay , whatever you to are failing to tell me. Tell me later?" I pointed at them and they nodded. I quickly hugged him before running back into the hallway of teens.

Finally it was break and I didn't have to sit through more teachers going on and on about rubbish that I don't care about. I walked into the room where I meet my friends and they where both stood there waiting for me.

"Lets take a walk!" Cassey commanded as her and Eliza each linked on of my arms and pulled me out of the classroom and onto the courtyard where we sat on the bench.

"Okay , your freaking me out Cas , what is it?"

"Right Rubes don't freak out but you know as you always miss the first day of term well this time we got a new person in the class." Cassey began , she sounded nervous and paused at 'class'.

"Yeah , and..."

"Oh for God sake Cas ill tell her. We have never seen Dean before only heard tings that you said but there is a new boy and he is called Dean Longsgate and we think that it might be your Dean!" Eliza spat out , quickly and with barley any emotion.

"But we don't know if it is your Dean. We have never met him , remember!" Cassey said kicking Eliza in the hope that I wouldn't notice but I did notice as she kicked her over the top of my leg. It was okay though cause she was doing it to make me feel better.

"Well I guess we will soon find out.." Eliza said , releasing the link on my arm and pointing at the picnic table across the whole lot. "There he is. There is the guy. There is Dean Longsgate!"

I looked over and followed her finger across to where the boy was and my heart sunk. It was Dean. Dean was sat on the table why who I presume was his friends where sat on the bench part of it. Dean was laughing with his friends when suddenly his gaze shifted and the slight smile disappeared from his face as he noticed me. We stared at each other for a while.

"I am going to take a guess and say that it is Dean.." Cassey began before I cut her off.

"I cant do this." I said getting up and walking off.

As I walked away Dean followed me. "Rubie , Rubie wait!" He shouted after me and I ignored him and carried on walking. "Rubie!" I ignored him again until he ran in front of me. 'stupid vampire speed!' I thought to myself.

"What Dean! What do you want?" I asked , refusing to look into his eyes.

"What is up with you? What is up with us? We were fine and then next minute I haven't spoke to you in months and I see you and you run away from me. What's going on?" Dean asked , clearly worried and confused.

"Sorry Dean but there is no us! Not anymore!"

"What do you mean Rubie? I don't understand."

"Oh you don't understand? Oh right then okay. Let me think , do you understand that I don't date vampires!" I said looking and enjoying the realisation in his face when he realised that I knew his secret. I then walked away and left him there speechless.

After that I decided I would skip the rest of school so I went training instead. I was more motivated today , seeing Dean just really annoyed me because it made me realise even though he was a vampire I still loved him. No one knew but me , if I told Amelia or Andre they made sure he would die.
