Peridot's POV

I open my eyes slowly, grasping onto reality rather quickly as I feel the warmth of my girlfriend lying next to me in bed. Smiling to myself, I recount the events of the night before as I roll over and wrap myself around her. She shuffles around slightly, but remains enveloped in her slumber. I was hesitant to let her stay over, but she assured me that her parents wouldn't mind and insisted on crawling into bed with me. Struggling to reach over her as subtly as possible, I eventually manage to snatch my phone from the bedside table. For the time being, I occupy myself on social media while holding Lapis close.

A short while later, I check the time and see that it's now 10:24am. Lapis is still sleeping peacefully, and I don't want to wake her just yet. I slowly and very carefully pull myself away from her and out of bed, heading over to my bathroom. Stripping myself of my clothing and setting my glasses on the counter, I step inside the shower, allowing the warm water to flow over me as I contemplate everything that's been going on lately. Most of all, I can't believe I have a girlfriend...and her of all people, too. I'm keeping my cool in front of her, but I'm as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning right now. 

Finishing up my shower, I step out and wrap a towel around myself before I notice I have a text from Amethyst. I dry myself off, getting dressed and putting my glasses back on so that I can actually read the text. 

Amethyst: dudeeee!!! we're throwing a party at the beach house tonight, you should totally come with ;)))

Me: you know parties aren't really my thing

Amethyst: it'll be fun i promiseeee! you should bring your girlfriend along too ;p

She teases, of course, without knowing of last night's events. 

Me: yeah, about that

Amethyst: did you finally put the moves on her??

I blush slightly.

Me: yup sure did 

More like she put the moves on me.

Amethyst: hell yeah!! now you really gotta come

Me: i'll ask her about it

On that note, I shut off my phone and put it in my pocket before exiting the bathroom. As I shut the door behind me, I see that Lapis is now awake, sitting with her head propped up on a pillow against the wall. She sets down her phone, which she was previously looking at, to look over at me instead. 

"Mornin' sleepyhead," I tease as I walk over to the bed and sit down next to her. She smiles and rolls her eyes as she sits up and plants a kiss on my cheek. 

Laying her head on my shoulder, she replies with a raspy voice, "Good morning." 

"Amethyst wants us to go to some party she set up tonight, you up for it?" I ask.

"A party, huh?" She seems uncertain, but agrees, "I guess that could be fun."

"Cool, I'll let her know. You want breakfast?"

"At 11am?" she giggles. 

I shrug, "Why not?" 

"Breakfast sounds nice," she hums. 

The two of us head downstairs, still in the same clothes we slept in, leaving Lapis in a simple t-shirt and shorts while I myself am wearing a t-shirt of my own and a pair of sweatpants. She sits herself on the living room couch and turns on the TV while I head over to the kitchen. I should probably text Amethyst back before I forget.
