Naturally I woke up. Overall my body was relaxed, but I felt filthy. Groggily I sat up, glancing around the coolly lit room I slowly remembered where I was and why. I reached over to pet Slayer only to realize that he wasn't there. In fact he wasn't anywhere in the room. While scanning the room for Slayer my eyes landed on a note and pile of items sitting on top of the dresser near the door.
Standing up, I made my way over to the dresser. Picking up the note it read,
Got you some things to change into. Feel free to use the shower if you'd like.
- Dabi.
P.S. Slayers with me.
Setting down the note I looked through the things on top of the dresser. Nicely placed in a pile was a light blue pair of jeans, with a couple holes where your knees are. A plain white tee-shirt and a dark blue and green flannel. Plain black converse sat next to the folded clothes. On top of the clothes there was a plain black hairbrush, a few hair ties, and a few knives.
Picking up one of the knives I inspected it. The blade was a shiny silver, the handle was black with a red ribbon around it. The handle grip was good. Angling it, it was light in my hand. It was light enough that I could throw it, but heavy enough that I could fight close up if needed.. Smiling, I set the knife back down. It felt good having a familiar weapon on hand.
Gathering up the clothes and essentials I walked out of the bedroom. The kitchen and living room lights were on and I could hear the News channel running. Walking through the hallway I made my way into the bathroom. Locking the door behind me I set my things down on the counter. Avoiding the mirror as much as possible, I jumped into the shower. The water turned into a brownish red when I first got in. It was a relief finally getting cleaned up.
Once out of the shower I quickly changed into the outfit that I was given. Surprisingly it fit well, the flannel was a bit big on me but otherwise the size was right. Putting the hair ties around my wrists I noticed scars on my arms from all the scratching I did last night. It was unsettling, pulling up the flannel sleeves I decided to ignore it completely and went to brush through my semi wet hair. Searching through the bathroom I was surprised to find a hair dryer. Without questioning it I quickly dried my hair.
Glancing at the mirror for the first time this morning, relief washed over me. I could recognize myself or at least I mostly could. My raven black hair reached past my shoulders. It's longer than it was before all this chaos. At my roots a few strands seemed to be white instead of my natural black. Inspecting it I noticed that I had a few small streaks of white in my hair. It unsettled me, but it was a very minor change that you have to look for them to notice it. My almost white eyes with a tint of blue stared back at me. Unfortunately there were visible purple eye bags under my eyes. The few freckles dancing over my face were actually visible. I no longer felt filthy.
Picking up the knives I slid them in my pocket with the covers on. Unlocking the bathroom door I walked out. Without a thought I made my way to the living room. Laying on the couch curled up was Slayer, he looked to be asleep. Glancing around I noticed movement in the kitchen.
Dabi walked out of the kitchen with a half eaten poptart in his hand. He looked better than he did last night. He was wearing his usual outfit just minus the jacket. What was odd was that he had a bandage around his left forearm. He paused making eye contact with me.
"Someone looks better." he chuckled, taking a bite of his poptart.
"Yeah... thanks for the outfit and things. When did you get these?" I questioned, glancing at the clothes I was wearing.
"This morning. I had some errands to run and figured I'd get you something so that you could get out of those filthy clothes." He stated, walking into the living room.
