The smell of burning snapped me awake. I had been drifting in and out of sleep until that smell caught my attention. Slowly I got up from the comfy bed. The dark gray walls kind of threw me through a loop as I recalled where I was.

The day before Shigaraki showed me the house he got for Amora, Eri, and I. I took them home as soon as I could. Eri loved her room instantly. Amora was skeptical but she seemed content with her room. I ended up passing out an hour or so later from lack of sleep and exhaustion from overworking my injuries.

Following the burning smell it only got worse as I made my way down the hallway. Slight panic set in. Was something on fire? We just got this place. I swear if it burns down already I'm going to lose it. Entering the living room I immediately searched for the source, keeping a lookout for any flames. Thankfully none were in sight.

"They're dust." giggled a little girl.

Glancing towards the kitchen I noticed little Eri poking black pieces of... well I couldn't exactly tell what they were. She was giggling as one of them practically disintegrated when she picked it up. Amora was standing over the oven trying to swoosh smoke away from her face. My body relaxed as I stared at the scene in front of me. Nothing was on fire, the house is fine.

"You're going to set the fire alarm off." I chuckled entering the kitchen. Amora practically jumped at the sound of my voice.

"Miss Jinx!" Eri exclaimed running up to me. Quickly she encased me in a hug, "You're awake!"

I smiled at the little girl, hugging her back, "I see you're feeling better."

She released from the hug nodding excitedly, "Auntie Amora says I have to rest up still because all my limbs are achy, but I'm allowed to help make food!"

"More like critiquing my cooking." Amora mumbled walking over to us.

"What happened to the..." I paused, unsure of how to describe whatever was on the plate without being rude about it.

"Bacon." Amora commented as she stared at the bacon in defeat, "I've never been very good in the kitchen."

"Miss Jinx." Eri whispered loudly as she tugged at my leggings.

I knelt down to the little girl's level, "What's up?"

"Can you make the yummy pancakes please? Aunties food is..." she paused, seeming at a loss for nice words to describe the food Amoras made. She looked at me with a sad expression, clearly she didn't want to hurt Amoras feelings but she also didn't want to eat the food.

I tried to hold back a laugh, not wanting to make the little girl feel worse, "I can do that for you. How about you go and draw Auntie Amora a picture as a thank you for trying." I suggested, whispering so that Amora didn't hear us.

Eri nodded, smiling, "Good idea!" she exclaimed before sprinting off into the hallway.

As soon as the little girl was out of my sight I bursted out laughing.

Amora stared at me, seeming unamused, "What did she say?"

I took a few deep breaths giggling as I stood back up.

"She doesn't like my cooking does she?" she questioned.

Smiling, I nodded, "She didn't want to hurt your feelings, but she really wanted pancakes."

"I made pancakes." Amora pouted pointing towards a plate full of crispy brown, almost black pancakes.

Just the look of the pancakes made me not want to eat again. Sighing, I walked over to the pancakes and picked one up. It was stiff. Honestly, I was amazed at how badly she screwed up pancakes. I showed her the pancake in my hand.
