A Warm up/Housewarden Meeting

Mu Qing was studying in the library where Cater and Riddle were sitting at a table with him when Ace and Deuce came in. "Hey, Qing" Ace cleared his throat, "we'd hate to interrupt your quality time with your BFs, but we need you to come with us because we need to see the Headmage."

Mu Qing said, "oh, are we summoned?"

Deuce said, "yes, since we were all witnesses of the Heartslabyul Overblot, thus, it's important he sees us all." Riddle and Cater smiled as he left with Ace, Deuce, and Grim,

The group went straight to Crowley's office where he was patiently waiting for them. "Hello, good afternoon. I've called you here for a briefing on the Overblot incident. I trust it's behind us. You're all on your way to becoming mages, however as such you must have full awareness of the ailment that befallen Housewarden Riddle." Deuce nodded, "an Overblot. Qing-san, the Housewarden, and Cater-sempai were just discussing that before me, Ace and Grim interrupted."

Ace nodded.

Mu Qing folded his arms, "from what we've known about it so far is that it can overtake anyone who expels too much magic. Xīn-xing's elder brother provided us that expelling too much blot will inevitably result badly."

Ace nodded, "in a 'berserker mode' like how Cater-sempai says it."

Crowley nodded, "yes, a Blot's form is a byproduct similar to that of a car engine's gas and in the case of the Overblot, it exhausts hazardous substances. For a mage to cast spells, it can overcome magical energy and result in a blot."

Mu Qing placed a finger on his chin, "Magic, having a carbonated substance...how eerie..." he muttered but loud enough for the others to have heard him.

"Indeed..." Crowley continued to explain how there is very little to understand about the blot despite it being investigated since ancient times. "The understanding we've only had of it is that its toxicity is malignant and expelling excessive amounts of it can cause a mage's mind and body to deteriorate."

Ace mentioned something about his grandmother warning him about using too much of his magic and thought it was to keep him out of trouble.

Despite being in a different world, some things remained the same: Mu Qing could see how the effects of having possessed extraordinary powers can also lead to perilous situations.

No matter how effective or strong something or someone may seem, it is important to keep in mind heeding consequences and drawbacks that come with it.

Grim complained, "so if I keep using my magic whenever I want, I'm gonna be affected by Overblot too?"

Crowley sighed, "not automatically...however, I think a demonstration may prove to be clear than providing information."

The ghosts from the Ramshackle Dorm appeared.

"Hello, Headmage. You've summoned us?" Thomas grinned.

Crowley smiled, "would you be so kind as to test these young mages through their paces? Except for Mu Qing-kun who seems to be capable without the use of his magical pen and suffering an Overblot episode."
