"How'd you find us?" Dustin along with everyone else stared at the girl.
"I uh, it's a long story." She gulped. "Everything is being handled with the cops, Eddie I think you have a chance at being proven innocent."
Everyone had a stark look of relief on their faces, including Eddie. Sol had done nothing short of a miracle for him. He ran to hug the young woman and almost knocked the wind right out of her. Eddie then proceeded to apologize, almost forgetting Sol's deteriorating health, and thanking her.
"Sunny, I can't thank you enough..."
"Don't thank me too much. I ruffled a few feathers while I was at the town hall, Jason and his friends mainly."
Eddie took a deep breath. "They've had it out for me ever since Chrissy ended up in the hospital, nothing you could've done to change their minds. Even if you had hard proof." He patted Soleil's shoulder and gave her a weak smile. "You did your best so, thanks."
She nodded. Sol had noticed something, Eddie was getting tired. Of course in his stance, this would get old for anyone in his shoes. However, she saw Eddie was getting tired specifically from running, from hiding from a town that hated him. It was something that he had done for most of his life, Sol started to fear that because of that factor, Eddie would do something drastic in the future if he felt hopeless enough. Then there her new objective was born, don't give him any other reasons to do anything brash.
"So, what've you guys been up to since I've been gone?"
Max spoke. "Dustin found another gate?"
"To the upside down?" Soleil's face was full of disbelief.
Nancy took a few steps towards her. "Whenever the Demogorgon attacked, it left a gate so we were thinking..."
"Vecna does the same."
"Exactly." She watched as Eddie approached a tarp, underneath it was a small boat. It seemed big enough to fit all the older members of the group. Steve helped Eddie drop the boat into the water. One by one, Robin hopped in then Eddie, then Nancy, and then Steve. Just as Soleil was about to join them, Eddie held his hand out to stop her.
"Eddie? What's the problem?" Her eyebrow clashed together.
"I...I just think you should sit this one out." Everyone looked at him.
"Seriously Eddie?"
"Look, you've pushed yourself a lot and done more than enough Sunny. I couldn't be more thankful for that but I think you should rest a little."
Now Sol was becoming annoyed for a few different reasons, she thought Eddie thought she couldn't handle herself, that she was too frail to bring along but in reality, she was scared that he had started to see through her act. Sol was in pain more often and it only got worse.
