I slid my hand over the display of the treadmill. It used to be so easy. I felt movement below my feet. Guess I found the right button. I used be 4 times a week in the gym. I haven't done this since I became fully blind. I found scary to run while I wasn't able to see, even I was only standing on a treadmill. I know Sideswipe is the combat trainer around here but also does some personal training with a few soldiers if they need help. I was so frustrated that I couldn't do the things I used to anymore. It became almost impossible for me to hide it any longer.

I stopped and sat down on a bench. This blackness was sometimes driving me nuts. I remember how it looked like, but adjusting was hard. I felt a touch on my back and jumped up. 'It's okay, relax.' Sunstreaker guided me back on the bench. 'What are you doing here all alone, sweetspark?' He asked. 'I wanted to do some work out. I remember what it looks like. I came here often but now... it's different.' He wrapped his arm around my shoulders. 'You lost a bit of your confidence. That's okay, we can bring that back. We can be your eyes.'

I leaned into him. 'We can find a way for you to be independent. Forget the walking stick.' He moved away. 'You can hear me clearly, right?' I nodded. 'I can tap on the obstacles. Then you know where to go.' I smiled at his friendship and I wasn't even sure if I was looking him in the eyes. He grasping my chin and kissed my forehead. 'It doesn't matter your blind, you're still adorable.' I snorted and turned my head away. I felt a dark blush creep up on my face. 'Are you blushing?' I felt him turn my head. 'Sunstreaker...' I got up. His arms wrapped around me.

'I love that blush. I want to see you blush more often.' I buried my face in his firm chest. He wrapped his arms around me. 'You're horrible.' He hummed. He brought me back to my room. I cha get my clothing and sat down on my bed. 'Next time you go somewhere you should tell us.' Sideswipe was much closer than before. 'Because I can't be independent anymore and get bullied because I'm blind?' I snapped; turning my head away. 'I know it's hard, but we can figure something out, okay?'

'We will be your eyes,' he added. I sat back against the headboard. 'I need my eyes for everything I loved to do and wanted to do. I was about to buy my first car... and I was about to start my training here. I did work outs all summer to be in shape and keep up with other soldiers. 'I loved to read... to draw...' I snapped. 'I had friends at the base, but since this happened they took off and forgot about me. So I wasn't I my half blind but also forgotten by the people I used to call friends.'

'But now you got us, we won't forget you,' Sideswipe stated. I sucked in a breath. 'We promise,' Sunstreaker added. The mattress dipped and I felt Sunstreaker rub my leg. The kind gesture was nice and comforting. 'The bullying doesn't make it any easier, but we will find the one who hurt you,' he promised. I nodded and inhaled sharply.

'Ratchet would like to see you.'

I frowned. 'Why? I am not in pain,' I muttered, half to myself. 'No, just to check your eyes, that's all,' Sideswipe replied. There wasn't much to check. The state of my eyes was the same. 'Uhm, alright... right now?' There was no response, so I wasn't sure if he was nodding or shaking his head. 'Is that a yes? If you're using body language than I can't pick up on that,' I reminded, sliding off the bed. 'Sorry, yes... right now.'

I held Sideswipe's arm as he guided me through the halls. I was pretty familiar with the turns and stairs, but just to be sure, I held onto him. 'You're quiet... is this about my eruption?' I questioned. 'No, just thinking, that's all. Your eruptions doesn't really surprise me. I know you're frustrated but you don't show it very often.' I shrugged. 'No, because it doesn't help my stupid situation. The more I think about it, the more depressed I get. My current state is just hard to fully ignore.'

'If your old friends forgot about you, then it's not worth being there friend, keep that in mind,' he mumbled. I nodded slowly. We reached the medbay. Ratchet was apparently already waiting for me. 'Skyler, how are you doing.' He grabbed my hand and forced me to sit down on the examination bed. 'I am fine,' I mumbled. '... why do you want to see me? It sounded urgent.'

'No, no... just a quick check up, that's all.'

I felt uneasy. Something in his voice unsettled me. He moved around and opened some cabinets. I couldn't hear what he was grabbing. He stepped back in front off me. 'Do you see flashes of light?' He questioned. 'Sometimes a little bit with the eye that turned blind later on.' I gestured at my eyes. 'It's a little bit responsive.'

'Does it mean my eye can recover a little bit?' I questioned. 'Unfortunately not. Damage already has been done, like I told you before, but I get you keep having hood,' he mumbled. 'Even 10% of sight is already enough for me,' I muttered. 'I'm afraid that's not good enough for me.' I had no idea what he was doing but he was doing something for sure. 'Well, at least it can't get any worse than this,' I mocked; trying to stay positive. 'It could.' My face dropped. 'Thank you, Sideswipe... that really helps.' I rolled my blind eyes.

'Don't move your eyes.'

'What are you doing anyway?' There was a brief pause before he answered. 'Doing some measurements,' was all he said. 'Okay, so the worst case is that I don't see the flashed anymore... they don't have any added value anyway,' I scolded. 'Actually, it means your eye is still a little bit responsive to light. Even your other that first went blind still responds a little bit.' I became quiet, trying to process the information and get why this was so important. 'Alright...'

'I'm done.'

Sideswipe stepped back. 'I don't get why this is so important if my eyes will never recover anyway,' I muttered, getting up. 'Means your nerves isn't 100% destroyed, that's why it's important.' I turned my head to where Sideswipe was standing. 'He's the doc.' I was pretty sure he was raising his hands. 'Right, well... do you need anything else or am I good to go?'

'Your blood. I want some tubes.' Sideswipe pushed me back down. 'For...?' I questioned. 'You know I take your blood more often to check it after the attack.' I was aware, but I felt like I was missing something. I couldn't see what they were signing at each other or doing.
