Chapter 5

Birthday

"Wake up Master Andrew. It's time to wake up Master Andrew." Tina said as she shook my entire body.

Morning already? I just slept five hours ago. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep. I had to use some special techniques I learned in wikihow to actually fall asleep.

"Why is there dry blood on your forehead Master Andrew?" Tina asked while healing me.

"Oh that, don't worry about it," I answered, trying to reassure Tina. I can't just tell her that I used a special technique mostly because there are people that simply don't believe in it. And Tina could be one of them.

Tina looked at me with a serious face and sighed. I got out of bed and put my hands on her shoulder like someone who's about to give garbage advice. I said "Worrying about the tiny details can make you miss the entire point" and then I gave her a thumbs up. Tina looked at me with a cringe face, but I pretended that I didn't see it and went to get change. Hm? Is Tina not going to help me get changed? I looked at Tina and she was fixing the bed. Did she forget? Oh well. I quickly changed into the clothes that Tina prepared and was ready to eat breakfast.

On our way to the dining area, I asked Tina "Did you already forget to do something today Tina?"

"Hm? Why would you ask tha... Oh, I see. If you're wondering about why I didn't help you today with your clothes Master Andrew, It was because Master Luke ordered me to. In fact, he wants to see you after you finish eating breakfast." Tina answered.

That was one thing but I was expecting another. It's my birthday today and Tina still hasn't said anything about it. Kinda puts me out of my mood to be honest.

"Oh, I see. Anyways, did my grandfather tell you why I needed to see him?" I said, trying my best to not look gloomy.

"Unfortunately Master Luke didn't tell me his reasons. But before I forget, Lady Sistine's carriage will be late so expect her to arrive in the afternoon." Tina said with a smile.

What is she happy about? Is she smiling due to the fact that my excitement died off? I was expecting her to say "Happy Birthday!" first thing in the morning but that didn't happen. And also Sistine is going to be late? What am I gonna do this morning? I was supposed to look around Ecriner town with Sistine after breakfast but since she's going to be late, that was pushed back to the afternoon. Sigh, first thing in the morning and everything that I was expecting to happen didn't happen. I blame reality for that.

As Tina and I were about to reach the dining area, Tina suddenly smiled. When I looked at her she immediately looked in the other direction. Hmm? I suddenly remembered Tina's notebook. I remember going through it and seeing a bunch of numbers. Later on, I figured out that those are actually birthdays. So Tina is the type of person that record's everyone's birth dates. Which made me come to the conclusion that Tina wouldn't forget my birthday. Not to mention that she woke up early and Luke spoke to her. Something fishy is going on here.

Before Tina opened the door to the dining area, I stopped her and said that I will open it. She was reluctant at first but then she gave in eventually. I put my right hand on the doorknob but I didn't open it. I waited for a couple of seconds and with a smug face, I finally said "Tell me, Tina, why is it that we didn't encounter any maids in the hallway? Could they all be behind this door with Sistine and Luke."

"Eh?" Tina looked confused.

I opened the door and everyone said "Happy Birthday!"

I already thought out a scenario of what I would do in this situation. I needed to act surprised so that everyone's effort isn't wasted. As much as I want to look proud in front of them I managed to figure out the surprise party. I'm not the type of person that ruins the mood like that, for now.
