Chapter 2

Learning

"It's time to wake up Master Andrew or you're gonna be late for breakfast."

Can't a kid like me just sleep peacefully without having to wake up early? Isn't that one of the perks of being a kid? I even had a hard time sleeping last night because of the things I learned. Not to mention how I'm not used to this bedroom. This room is far too big for me and I learned that the hard way last night. I will often see this demon shadowy figure in the corner of my eye standing. I know I'm not hallucinating and I'm sure everyone has experienced this. What I'm trying to say in all of this is that I still want to sleep. And my solution to that is to pretend to be asleep. I know, I'm a genius.

"Master Andrew, I know you're awake. Breakfast will be served soon so please, don't make this hard for me again." Tina said while opening the curtains to burn my eyes with sunlight.

How does this girl know? Every single time I make sure to leave no trace that shows that I'm awake. Magic perhaps? Yes, that makes more sense. After all, everything is possible when magic is in the equation.

"Master Andrew!" Tina shouted angrily.

The moment I heard that tone some bad nostalgia came in. I immediately looked at Tina and I could tell from the way her cat ears twitch that she was mad.

Tina grabbed the bed cover with a sadistic smile and snatched it to make sure I won't be able to go back to sleep. Tina, I know you're mad and all but you don't have to show it this way. I understand how much of a pain in the ass I am but that's just who I am.

"Ti...Tina, are you mad?" I asked.

Are you mad? Of course, she's mad. Why did I have to ask that?

"I'm not mad Master Andrew, I'm simply happy to finally see you awake."

Liar. That was a big fat lie. It's written all over your face. The way the corner of your lips fidgets behind that kind smile of yours. And you even try to hide your eyes by closing them. Scary

I decided to get up before Tina starts to pout and ignore me. My indoor clothes were already on the bench. Tina probably prepared it for me while I was pretending to be asleep. But I honestly don't mind walking around the manor in my pyjamas.

"What are we having for breakfast? Is it that soup you cooked the other day or maybe that meat thing that looked awful but actually tasted good?" I asked.

"Unfortunately Master Andrew, I'm not the one that cooked nor did I request any dish. Breakfast will be entirely up to the chef. But I am grateful that y..... Wait, Master Andrew, let me help you with that."

I don't really need help getting changed but whenever Tina sees me changing, she immediately comes to help me. I guess that's one of her duties as a maid but it can get annoying after a while.

I remembered one time when I was changing on my own. Tina went to help me and completely forgot about the thing she was cooking. The fire started to spread in the kitchen but good thing she knows how to use water magic and stopped it from further spreading. The fire left a mark on the walls and I remember watching her panic about how to hide it before my parents came back. And the best part was I was just there pretending to not understand what was happening. But on the inside, I was enjoying myself. When Lucia and Luke came back, they gave Tina a good hearing and decided to not let her cook for a few weeks. At first, I didn't realize what was about to happen. Tina not cooking for weeks means that Lucia will have to cook. Lucia barely knows how to cook and guess what. Everyone had diarrhea for weeks. As soon as we realized that Lucia was the cause, Tina went back to cooking again. And it all started with me getting changed.
