April 13th, Saturday, Steve Harrington's House.
8:34 AM.

Eddie just felt so off that day. His face had this weird feeling to it, scratching & itching at it. Meanwhile, Steve was out getting groceries so they wouldn't run out of food & all that stuff.

Eddie couldn't stop scratching at his face, becoming irritated. "Goddamn it, what is going on?" He huffed as he walked into the bathroom. His cheeks & chin were all red.

He didn't know what was wrong with him. He moved his jaw a little, his stomach churning at what he saw in the mirror. Something was definitely wrong.

His eyes widened at the sight. How could he even do that? How was it possible? Eddie touched his face in disbelief, doing it again & again.

What the hell?

Eddie didn't know how it was possible, but he could open parts of his face. Every time he did, it was all fleshy & toothy. There was some sort of goo coming out from one of the petal-like parts of his face that opened up. It was like he was a real life demogorgan. A real life demo-bat.

His face could open the exact same way that those creatures did. It looked the exact same on the inside, too. Eddie was definitely freaked out, but the ability to do this grew on him.

Eddie opened each part of his face all at once, laughing a bit. "Holy shit! This is so metal!" He smiled as his face slowly came back together.

He had to admit, it was a little gross with all the flesh & teeth & goo. But, it was so cool. He knew damn well he could freak out Steve with this.

So, freak out Steve he did.

Eddie was hanging on the ceiling, hidden, his wings flapping in excitement. He was giggling & squealing like a little girl, just waiting to see Steve's reaction.

Not too long after, the front door unlocked & opened. Keys jingled along with the sound of bags rustling & Steve's footsteps. His voice, too.

"Eddie?! Eddie, I'm home!" Steve yelled out as he looked around, walking into the kitchen. He set the bags onto the kitchen counter. "Eddie?"

The vampire smiled as he flew down, landing straight in front of Steve & opening his face. Eddie yelled, "Boo!" Steve screamed as he backed away, falling onto the ground, Eddie laughing like a maniac as his face came back together.

But, Steve was genuinely scared. His heart was racing, shaking & panicking. That opening face just brought him even more trauma, remembering all those demo-bats & that demogorgan.

Eddie noticed Steve wasn't laughing. He was sobbing, hugging himself in fear. Eddie's heart dropped, his smile faltering. "Oh my god- Steve?" He knelt down to his level, holding Steve in his arms.

Steve's breathing was unstable as he looked around, panicked. "Steve, are you okay? I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like that-" Eddie apologized, cupping Steve's face.

Everything went black for Steve. He felt like he was back in the upside down, his back burning from being dragged on the solid ground. He felt like he was suffocating & being eaten alive, kicking his legs in panic.

He couldn't breathe. He couldn't do anything besides feeling like he was about to die. He had to deal with the feeling of being eaten alive. It hurt him so much. He just had to look at those opening faces of those demo-bats who had tortured him.

Steve felt like screaming at the top of his lungs, feeling like he was choking on his own blood. His ears were ringing & nothing could be heard. Everything was just a blur.

Steve suddenly looked up at Eddie, snapping out of it. He was gripping onto his shirt as he sobbed & shook. "Why- What was that? Are they back?" Steve frantically looked around.

Eddie shook his head, caressing Steve's cheek. "No, those monsters aren't back. I just-" Eddie pursed his lips as he sighed, feeling Steve shake in his arms.

"That was you..?" Steve sniffled, wiping his tears as he tried his best to calm down, taking deep, shaky breaths. "Yeah, it was me. I'm so sorry, Stevie." Eddie held him close. He apologized again, whispering, "I am so sorry."

Steve shook his head, calming down. "It's- It's fine. Just don't do that shit again." He forced a small laugh. Eddie nodded. "Yeah, I'm definitely not going to." He softly smiled.

Eddie helped Steve up, taking off his coat & walking him to the couch. He sat him down. "I just thought it'd be cool to show you something new I discovered like that. I thought it'd be funny." Eddie sighed as he got some water for Steve.

Steve got comfortable on the couch as Eddie came back with a glass of water. Eddie sat down next to him, handing Steve the water as he carefully drank.

Steve set the glass down. "I guess it was kinda cool. Didn't know you could do that." He slightly smiled. Eddie nodded, "Yeah, I didn't know I could do that either. I just found out earlier-" Steve nodded as well, continuing to drink the water before he finally finished it.

The man scooted over to Eddie, laying in his arms as he calmed down. Steve suddenly said, "You know, Dustin knows about you." Eddie's eyes widened a little.

"I told him about you a few days ago. He believed it." Eddie smiled. "So, I can see him?" Steve nodded as Eddie laughed happily. "That's great!"

Eddie then looked down at Steve, who's head was in his lap. "I love you so much, you know that?" Eddie said as he caressed Steve's cheek. Steve nodded, leaning into his touch. "I love you so much, too."

The vampire couldn't help but smile even more, leaning down to kiss Steve. The kiss was soft, tender, & passionate. It was filled with much love. Steve smiled against Eddie's lips before Eddie pulled away.

"Y'know, 's kinda weird to kiss a face opening monster." Eddie joked as he tilted his head a little. Steve rolled his eyes. "Whatever- You leaned in, so-" Steve shrugged.

"But, it's still weird!" Eddie stuck his tongue out at him. "You're not even a monster either. And I love you, so it doesn't matter!" Steve laughed.

Eddie scowled before laughing as well. "Like I said, it's weird. It definitely does matter, too." Steve rolled his eyes. "Mhm, sure. It totally matters." But, Eddie was right.

It did matter.
