It was a long way to Os Alta, only a day's journey left. The soldiers weren't the kindest. Forcing Ivy to sleep amongst the cold elements (nothing knew), but forcing her shackles tighter and tighter every time she tries to escape.
"These are hardly necessary," she said one evening. But the guards kept them locked tight.
After the soldiers ate, making sure to feed Ivy the bare minimum, they got ready for sleep.
Ivy's mind wandered. She needs to find a way out of the army's clutch before they arrive before the King.
Who knows what he is planning to do to Ivy. She has ideas. Force her to stop the wars between Shu Han and Fjerda? Maybe kill her for being something different?
Ivy was about to go to sleep when she saw a young boy still up and wandering around. A plan clicked in her head.
"Hey," she whispered. The boy looks around confused. "Yes, you."
The boy walks closer to Ivy but he stops.
"I'm not that scary," Ivy told the boy. "I may be different, but I'm not a monster."
"I shouldn't even be talking to you," the boy responded.
"Let me show you."
"What are you on about?"
"Take the shackles off, and I'll show you I'm nothing to be afraid of."
The boy thought this over. So far Ivy's plan was working. She was so close to getting out of here. Find Anton and Serena. Escape the tortured idea of what will await at Os Alta.
"Alright," he said.
The boy walks closer. Touched the shackles. Looked them over. Grabbed something to unlock them.
"What are you doing?" a voice called. "Are you mad? You're going to let a dangerous Grisha out of her shackles. She'll kill us all."
"But she-"
"Don't listen to the lies she spits."
They left and Ivy was alone. Her mind is still awake with fear of the King.
