Chapter 3

Lani's POV

"Lani." Justin knocked on my door. I was still pissed at him. How could he say that Harry is a player first of all and second, that we're dating?

I opened the door and stared at him.

"Lani, I'm sorry okay? Like I said, I just don't want you to get hurt." Justin said.

"Why would I? Like 'I' said, I've been through much worse." and I did. Justin knows that.

"I know you have, and I know your a tough girl. I just think you deserve someone better."

"Well Harry and I are only friends, and also how are you here to say who I deserve?." I said crossly.

"Trust me. I know exactly who you deserve." Justin cockily said.

"Oh really? Since when are you my mother? You know what Justin, just leave. Please? I can't handle this right now." I told him. Justing gave out a sigh and allowed the edges of his lips to turn down.

"Fine." he stuffed his hands in his pocket and walked down the hall.

Whenever I'm mad or stressed out, I like to isolate myself from everyone. I grabbed my phone and earbuds off my bed and trudged down the stairs. I walked back outside where the sun began to set.

I felt the water was up against my toes as I stared out into the ocean once more. The wet sand squished between my toes.

"When I look into your eyes, it's like watching the night skies or a beautiful sunrise. Well there's so much they hold...."

"Outside by yourself, again I may add?" My head spun around to see Harry walking toward me. I smiled at the sight of him.

"Yea. Justin and I are fighting, and when we do, I just like to keep to myself." I sighed, looking at the ground.

"Should I go then? I mean If you want your privacy." Harry pointed back to the house.

"No, no. It's fine. I need to be distracted. Walk with me." I told him as I took a step to the left.

"Okay." Harry said. We took a moment to enjoy the view. It was very pretty out here.

"This is a random question, but what's your middle name?" Harry asked as we walked along the shore.

"Ann." I said simply.

"Hmm... Leilani Ann Ross. I like it. Mind if I call you Annie?" I looked at the curly haired boy in confusion.

"Annie?"

"Yea. I want to call you something no one else does, and your middle name is Ann, so...." Annie. I like it.

"Go ahead. I kinda like it." Harry nervously smiled at the ground. A cool breeze waged over us, making me shiver.

"You cold? Here." Harry took off his hoodie.

"Thanks." I partially whispered as I put it on. "Your sweet Harry. I haven't really met a guy like you before." I told him.

"What about Justin?"

"No. Not at all. He treats me as though I'm a guy. Tough and unbreakable. Sometimes I am, but I gotta remember that I'm still a girl. I still have feelings and stuff. He just forgets sometimes." I said shrugging.

"Hmm. Well you do seem tough. Just maybe not as tough as he gives you credit for."

"Your so right. It's nice having someone that understands me." I said grinning at Harry.

"It's what I do.....we should be getting back to the house. It's getting late. C'mon." Harry rested his arm around my shoulder and spun us around. I felt flutters in my stomach. We may not be dating, but I cant fight the feeling that I wish we did.
