Two days later

'Today's the day' Hiccup thought as he rose quickly from his bed. The sun wasn't up yet but DJ had instructed him last night to rise up at least an hour before sunrise.

This was his first raid as an Outcast, well first raid ever actually since Berk didn't really do that.

DJ came to him late last night and said that he had gotten permission from his dad to take the young boy on a ship raid.

Hiccup quickly got dressed in his usual attire before jumped from the upper level due to his level of excitement. He quickly ate some dried yak jerky and some water that he had set out last night so he didn't waste a lot of time getting breakfast.

Beside the food was a worn leather vest. DJ had dropped it off when he visited last night, saying that it had been his old training vest that he had reinforced with extra leather.

It wouldn't stop a swing from a battle axe by a full grown viking but it would lower the risk of dying from an arrow. But Hiccup didn't have any intentions of getting hit by any arrows anyway.

After quickly eating and getting the vest on, he put on a belt before sheathing his sword into the belt, as well as a few daggers. He then began making his way to the docks.

True DJ had said they weren't leaving till early sunrise, he wanted to make sure they knew he was eager for this.

However once he got near the docks, he seen by torch light that DJ and most of his crew were there by his ship: Immortal.

The Outcast Heir looked up from sharpening one of his axes and seen his friend coming. So he tucked his axe into his belt and began walking forwards to meet him.

"Hiccup, I said we weren't leaving this early" he said with a smile as he draped an arm over his shoulders and led him towards the ship.

"Wanted to get here early" Hiccup said.

"Excited?" He questioned with a smile as the younger boy smiled and nodded.

"Good lad, well we're just waiting till a little bit of light so we can see the sky and any possible dragons" DJ said, not noticing Hiccup's frown. But he quickly shook it off.

"So I noticed that you guys don't go out of your way to hunt dragons" Hiccup pointed out. DJ just shrugged as he watched his men load up a barrel of mead and some break and jerky.

"Personally I don't see the point of hunting them. Sure they taste okay, but so do boars, bears and deer. And they don't breath fire and fly" DJ said.

"You ate a dragon?" Hiccup questioned with a slightly disturbed face.

"It was a terror, I was in the middle of the woods on a hunting trip and I wasn't having much luck" DJ said with a slightly annoyed voice, letting Hiccup know that he has had this conversation before.

"How was it?" Hiccup then asked, now curious.

"Eh, lizard-y" he responded. He suddenly smiled and Hiccup seen that the sun was staring to rise.

"Besides, we're about to hunt something more dangerous than a dragon" he said patting Hiccup's shoulder before he began barking orders at his men.

"Alright you blood thirsty warriors, are you to get some plunder and strike some fear in those who cast us out?" DJ announced jumping onto the mead barrel.

"Aye" the crew shouted with the exception of Hiccup who didn't know they were going to shout.

"Now anyone who is scared, get off now and don't be here when I get back" he said as everyone went quiet.
