Superpets 3

Chapter 7

"Superpets have been looking for a crystal that can do a lot of things." Rex said. The pair were in his apartment. "In the wrong hands, who knows what could happen."

"What do you want us to do?" Buddy asked.

"You need to steal the crystal. It's the only way that I could think of that would help you get back to the future." Rex replied.

"Where is this crystal?" Felix asked.

"We have a location, but we aren't sure exactly who is using it." Rex replied. He gave them a map and they took it.

"It's just outside where we used to live." Buddy said, pointing to the marker.

"maybe it's the lab where we got our powers." Felix suggested.

"That's one thing you'll need." Rex said. "You'll also need a machine and a sample of JX-30 to make sure that you are transported accurately."

"You weren't kidding when you said it was a lot of work." Buddy replied. Rex chuckled a little.

"We need to do this as quick as possible. We only have a certain amount of time until stuff starts going wrong." Felix said.

"What exactly could go wrong?" Buddy asked, intrigued.

"If we see ourselves, that'll cause a paradox. If someone doesn't do what they're supposed to do to get us to the point we're at, people will start forgetting us or we'll lose our powers." Felix replied.

"Well, we best get to it then." Rex replied.

The pair were now outside the lab where they got their powers.

"This is it." Felix said. They went inside and down in the elevator. When they reached the bottom, the doors slip open and they saw a fully stocked lab.

"This isn't what it used to look like." Buddy said, getting out of the elevator and heading to the centre where the crystal stood. "I'm guessing this is what Rex was talking about." He picked it up and they left.

"That was easy." Felix said, inspecting the crystal. "Y'know, this looks oddly familiar."

"It probably is. This thing probably gets stolen every day." Buddy said.

"It sure does." A voice said behind them. They turned and saw that it was Flint. He was holding a water pistol.

"Where's the machine?" Buddy asked.

"What machine?" Flint asked.

"Oh I don't know, the one that got us into this mess?" Buddy said.

"Again, what machine?" Flint asked.

"The time machine! You built it!" Felix yelled.

"Time machine? What are you talking about?" Flint asked.

"Why aren't you... you?" Buddy asked.

"I'm not exactly a bad person. I just want to test it out, be a rebel. You know." Flint said.

"You're not bad?" Felix asked.

"No." Flint replied. "Can I have my stone now?"

"It's not yours." Buddy said.

"Well it ain't yours either." Flint replied. "Please just give it to me."

"Get your bodyguards to get it." Buddy said, holding the crystal tight.

"Bodyguards? I'm not a millionaire." Flint said.

"Who do you work for?" Felix asked.

"Why should you know?" Flint asked.

"It'll determine the fate of the stone." Buddy replied.

"Fine. I work for one of the Sister companies of Superpets." flint said.

"Alright. Just give it to us when you're done with it." Felix said, sliding the crystal across the floor towards him. Flint walked off, crystal in hand.

"Well done, you just gave a bad guy a really powerful stone." Buddy said.

"Well I didn't want to get shot with a water pistol." Felix replied. The sky was already turning dark so the pair decided to rest.
