Superpets 3

Chapter 10

August 31st - 2 Days until Buddy and Felix become superpets.

"We have 1 day to prepare the machine and we need a computer to operate the machine at the lab." Buddy said as he paced around the shop.

"It's fine, we'll just go into the HQ and get one." Felix said.

"Without powers?" Buddy asked.

"Well if it wasn't for you, we would have them." Felix said.

"I said I was sorry!" Buddy argued.

"Let's just focus on going back." Felix muttered. They set to work and sneaked into the HQ slowly and quietly. They hopped into a vent and started searching the facility for a computer. As they passed the vent for the main area, they saw a small tour group.

"Mr. Evans, welcome to our branch. I understand you are the CEO of the London branch. And this is?" Wilkins asked.

"James." Buddy said, looking at the group.

"This is my friend and close colleague, AJ. He runs the Social Study for the most part." James said, pointing at AJ.

"He's the lazy guy with the bad temper." Buddy said, pointing at the raccoon.

"Are these other work partners?" Wilkins asked, signalling at the rest of the group.

"Senior members." James corrected him. The group set off walking around. Amongst them, the pair could see that Aaron, Ozzie and Ben were also a part of the group.

"I didn't think that things would change this drastically." Felix said, worried.

"Probably best if we get the things we need quicker." Buddy said. The pair scuttled across the rest of the ventilation system until they found a computer. They got out of the vent and grabbed it. They left through the door to the room that they were in, straight into the tour group.

"Lost?" Wilkins asked.

"Y-yeah." Felix said. "We're just looking for the way out."

"We were just showing this group to the exits. Follow us." Wilkins said, his high-spirited voice kicking in. The pair followed the group.

"How long have you worked here?" Past James asked.

"We uhh... just joined today!" Buddy exclaimed.

"Scary, huh?" James said.

"Yeah." Felix lied.

"Why are there so many people here?" Buddy asked.

"They're mostly business partners or people that are siblings of senior members." James replied. "Take him for example." He pointed to Aaron, who wasn't taking any notice of anything. "His brother used to work here. He left a few days ago. Andrew I think his name was."

 I've heard that name before Buddy thought. That's right! He left on the same day as Cassidy!

"Here we are, one of the main exits." Wilkins said snapping Buddy out of his trance. "Cheerio and good luck settling in."

The pair left the HQ, gathered the supplies that they needed and headed for the Lab.
