where she stood isn't where she should be. she shouldn't be in the room no one entered anymore, the one room she should have been away from longer. It's been 3 years since his accident, since she'd been framed for it. And she's standing where he's stood before, where he's slept, read, and breathed once in his life. Benjamin's room. the name that will never grace her lips, like it used to before, a man who she had in her life. Who's now gone will stay with her forever.

and here she is—in the room of Benjamin on the day of his accident holding his favorite all dressed potato chips.

"Hey Benny." Matilda whispered opening the bag then sitting on the floor, "I miss you. I didn't think i would ever be talking to my best friend in his old room while looking at the ceiling but here we are." she said wiping a tear with a small chuckle. Glen caught the sight of her, he turned to go into the room but Blake was quick to stop him.

"Don't," Blake warned him, "Why? I mean she's obviously hurt." Glen told him and he just smiled, "She's healing. That was Bens room, he was her best friend." Blake explained to him then took him into his room. "The reason why I live with her, is because Ben, her and I shared the rent together, we are the closest thing to family—at the time. And I'm only telling you this because she may never."

"Benjamin or Ben died 3 years ago. He was Matilda's best friend, and I mean best—They did everything together. Ben was a teacher, while Matilda wanted to be an influencer. It was this day 2019—Ben was caught in the crossfire of a police chase. He was just crossing the street for where he and Matilda met everyday for lunch, and a police car went down the street and slammed into him. He wasn't brought to the hospital until 15 minutes after the accident." Ben explained then looked across the hall at the girl who's talking to the ceiling about her three years.

"He died in the ambulance on the way over. Matilda didn't know for the entire day. she waited at the restaurant until she got the hospital call." He told Glen who nodded along, the story made his heart swell. It made his heart whisper, I'm sorry my dear. I'm so sorry that this has happened my dear Matilda. There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do for you to never feel this pain again.

While it whispered, it beats. it beats like the drum in the background of an orchestra playing on the record player. The song playing felt worse than it did yesterday.

Just like Ben. Matilda held all her secrets, she was told to never trust until she was right about the person.

She can't hold it anymore, just like a balloon it's gonna pop. at some point all her feelings will be spilling out all over her beautiful white dress.
