Aaron hangs his head, then looks to the sky.
"In another world..." He looks at his hands, then back at the sky. "I still have another chance to do what's right."
He falls backwards, and the roof where he falls begins to look like quicksand and sucks him up. The place where he would have been becomes an obsidian reminiscence of a man that had dreamed big, but fell short. Anyone who had magical powers quickly felt them coming back in a wave of sadness. Rieka had been correct in saying that Aaron was tampering with an anti-magic field.
The boggle also disappears, leaving behind a journal. Malikaly goes to one knee and catches his breath, marveling at what he had done, he then walks outside and sees the destruction, then Aaron falling through the roof. He walks forward and picks up the journal.
