So I felt like I needed to explain all the terms that I'm gonna be using in this story. But if you've read a werewolf or omegaverse story before then you probably already know them. If you already know these terms then feel free to skip this chapter

Marking: when the more dominant mate bites down on the submissive's scent gland. This creates a custom mark on the scent gland so that other alphas or betas know that that omega or beta is taken

Scent Gland: the spot were the neck meets the shoulder. Its sensitivity is based on the rank of the person

Courting: an old tradition where the dominant would show the submissive that they were a worthy mate by taking care of the submissive even before they mated.

Mating: when the dominant and the submissive have sex during mating season to ensure a lifelong bond between the two. (If it is not done during mating season then it is not mating)

Ranks: all werewolves have a rank. The three ranks are alpha, beta, and omega

Omega: always submissive and most omegas are female. 20% of the werewolf population are omegas and 5% of omegas are males making omegas the rarest rank

Beta: can be submissive or dominant. 50% of the werewolf population are betas making it the most common rank

Alpha: almost always dominant (unless a female alpha mates with a male alpha) and almost alphas are male. 30% of the werewolf population are alphas and 10% of alphas are female
