Kai's POV:

I ran through the forest, already passing most of the other omegas even though I started later. I watched as some of them stopped after running only a few yards into the forest. These omegas obviously wanted to be claimed by some random alpha. Idiots

Who would want to be claimed by someone they don't know or love? Certainly not me

I maneuvered through the thick forest with ease due to all the practicing I have been doing leading up to this point. That's when I came to a small clearing and in the center was a small lake. I decided I had time to stop and get a drink because I was definitely farther then all the other omegas

But as I was drinking a loud horn was sounded back at the starting line. This meant only one thing, the alphas had been released

Alphas were much faster than omegas so it would only be a matter of time before one of them found this place. I needed to start moving now. But before I left I quickly jumped in the water a swam around in it. This would help lessen my scent so alphas couldn't smell me

I hopped out of the water and continued to run through the forest. Just them a howl broke through the forest indicating that an omega was just claimed. Suddenly dozens of howls were heard from all over the forest, this was definitely not a good sign

I started to run faster as some of the howls I heard weren't very far where I was. I ran for a good 20 minutes before my energy started to drain, leaving me hungry and exhausted. I needed to find something to eat before I lost all of  my energy and stamina

I began to sniff the air, trying to find the scent of any small animal near here. I sniffed out a rabbit about 20 feet from where I was, so I instantly crouched lower to the ground so it wouldn't know I was here. I might have never hunted with the pack, but that didn't mean I didn't know how to hunt at all

I saw the fuzzy creature hiding in a brush and got ready to pounce. As I got ready, I thought I heard something in the bush behind me, but I brushed it off. Just as the rabbit was about to run, I pounced on it and sunk my canines into its neck ending its life

I laid down and started to tear into the rabbit's soft flesh when I heard a low growl coming from behind me. I shot up and whipped around getting into a definitive stance, ready to defend myself if I had too

Before I could even process what had happened, I was pinned to the ground by a large alpha with gray fur. He looked down at me and growled, obviously trying to assert dominance over me.

The alpha started to sniff me, mostly around my scent glands then started to rub his scent on me. I knew he was about to claim me, but if this was how it was going to be. I wasn't going down without a fight

I used all the force I could gather to kick him off of me using my hind legs. The alpha was shocked by the sudden force which gave me the opportunity to strike again. I snapped at his legs causing the alpha to stubble backwards

I took this opportunity to run and try and get as far away as possible. Unfortunately I didn't get very far before the alpha bit me in my hind leg.

I yelped in pain as I feel to the ground. I could no longer walk due to the pain, leaving me vulnerable to anything the alpha wanted to do to me

I whimper in pain as I tried to crawl away, but the alpha once again, pinned me to the ground.

So this is it I guess. The alpha was dangerous close to my scent gland and was started to open his mouth, ready the mark me. But just as I started to loss all hope, a large black wolf tackled the one on top of me

I sat up and watched as the two alphas fought over me. The black wolf was much larger and stronger than the gray wolf, so it didn't take long for the gray one to be pinned down

The black wolf growled, baring it's fangs at the other wolf, forcing it into submission. It then released the other wolf and watched as it scurried away

I realized that now that the mystery wolf had won the fight, he had also won the right to claim me. I quickly scrambled to my feet and started to limp away. But before I could even get 6 feet away the alpha had stepped in front of me, blocking my path

I backed away from the large wolf until my back was to a tree. As he continued to get closer I tried my best to release threatening growls at him even  though I was scared out of my mind

Soon enough he was standing right in front of me, staring into my eyes. I couldn't help but be forced into submission under that powerful gaze, I tucked my tail between my legs and lowered my head.

But the next thing that happened really surprised me. The alpha bent down and started to examine my injured leg. As he got closer to it I whimpered in fear. He was going to hurt me more, then when I'm weak enough he is going to mark me and take away my last bit of freedom. But instead of doing this he started to lick the wound, easing the pain

I tilted my head in confusion, why was he being so gentle? I watched as he laid down next to me and continued to lick my leg and I just continued to stare at him in confusion. Once he noticed I was looking at him he lifted his head up to look straight into my eyes and licked my muzzle lovingly

I couldn't help the blush that quickly spread across my face, but thanks to the fur it wasn't really visible.

But things got really confusing when the alpha started to snuggle up against me and rubbed his head against mine. Wolves only do things like this when they are courting another wolf. But why would he go through the trouble of courting me if he could just claim me right now? This made no sense. But at least he hasn't marked me, so I'll just go

I looked up into the sky and noticed that the sun was going down, indicating that the run was probably over by now. Yet I was still here with an alpha that obviously had no intent on marking me. Well if he wasn't going to claim me then there was no point of me staying here

I started to get up to leave but before I could even get off the ground the alpha started growling, obviously not wanting me to leave. He continued to growl until I lowered myself back on to the ground. Once I did he started to wag his tail like a happy puppy

I decided since he wasn't going to let me leave, I would just sleep here tonight, he would probably get bored and leave eventually, right?

I let my head hit the ground and started to comfortable. Thankfully this wouldn't be the first time I've slept in the woods and it probably wouldn't be the last

But as I closed my eyes, I felt a weight on my neck. I looked up to see that the alpha was resting his head on my neck, a sign of affection commonly used by marked or mated wolves

He looked at me with eyes full of affection and I knew he wasn't going to move, so I just let him do his thing. As long as he doesn't try to mark me in my sleep I'm fine. At least until my leg is healed enough so I can walk away

I started to feel my eyes getting droopy, indicating that I was about to fall asleep. But right before I closed my eyes the alpha licked my neck right where my mark would go and a
dog-like smirk covered his face
