Kai's POV:
As I run through the forest in my wolf form many thoughts are going through my mind. Ones like "what's my strategy for this years Run of the Wolves" or "how am I going to prevent being claimed this year"
Being a male omega means that your have to be on high alert at all times. You never know when an alpha can jump you and force claim you. These instincts are what kept me from getting claimed during last years event and I'm hope it will do the same this year too
This is my second year participating in the Run of the Wolves and I am one of the only omegas that finished it without getting claimed by some random alpha. Which is surprising due to the fact that male omegas are very rare and that almost every alpha had its eyes on me at the starting line last year
I maneuver through the trees with ease due to my small frame. I guess that is one advantage of having a small wolf form
Running in this forest has started to become a tradition for me. One month before the Run I run in this forest till sunset every day practicing my speed and agility. At this point I can run through this forest with my eyes closed and still not run into anything
I look up into the sky and noticed that it was starting to get dark. I should probably head home before Noah comes looking for me again. But I suppose I can be a little late
As I continue to run my mind starts to wonder again. What if I actually get claimed this year? I shiver just thinking about that. What if I get claimed by some abusive alpha that only wants me for my body? I try not to think about the "what ifs" as I start to head home
{Time Skip to when he got home}
As I approach my house I notice that my roommate/best friend Noah isn't home yet. Since Noah is a beta he is allowed to do more stuff in the pack such as going on hunts and protecting the pack against rouges. Even though I am stronger, faster, and smarter then most betas, I still can't do stuff like that because I'm a omega
Don't get me wrong, omegas are still treated as equals it's just that most omegas are females that just want to be mated and start a family instead of enjoying life. So people just assume all omegas think that way. But I'm not like all those other omegas. I want to do the things betas and alpha do, like go hunting and help protect the pack. What I don't want is to spend the rest of my life cooped up in a house taking care of some snooty alpha's pups
But since when do I get what I want
I start to make dinner for myself since Noah was probably out hunting with the rest of the pack and would eat with them. As I'm eating I start to think about the Run again. If I do finish the Run without being claimed, what happens next? Do I just participate in this stupid thing over and over again until I get claimed? That's so dumb, why can't people just accept the fact that I don't want to be claimed? Is that really so hard to comprehend?
I'm so lost in thought that I don't even realize Noah is home until he taps my shoulder, breaking my train of thought
"Oh, your home already" I say looking back down at my food
" Yeah, there really wasn't any point of me staying, all they were talking about was the "rUn Of thE WoOlveS" he says in a silly voice making me laugh. He just rolls his eyes and starts to head upstairs to his room, leaving me alone with my thoughts again
Was that seriously the only thing people care about right now, some stupid event that only horny and lonely alphas participate in? Whatever I don't have the mental strength to think about this right now
I quickly clean up the mess I made while making myself food and head to my room. I soon as I close my bedroom door I dramatically flop down on my bed and let out a sigh of frustration. Why does being an omega have to be so difficult?
Why couldn't I just be a beta or an alpha? Why did the Moon goodness make me this way. I fall into a deep slumber as these thoughts that were clouding my mind.
