The Run of the Wolves

Begin

Kai's POV:

"Begin"

As soon as the announcer said this, all the omegas except me shifted into their wolf forms and started to run into the forest.

But I stood still, watching all the other omegas disappear in the thick trees. I could tell some of the alpha that were watching me were confused on why I haven't started running

Well if they are gonna stare at me, might as well give them something to stare at

I started running but just before I ran into the forest, I jumped and shifted midair. I looked back to see many shocked alphas, but that guy from earlier didn't look shocked. Instead he mouthed something

'Good luck omega'

Ace's POV:
(Before the run began)

I arrived at the forest where the Run of the Wolves would be held, and I was immediately hit by the scents of several alphas and omegas. To be honest, the smell was very overwhelming and could make someone sick

Thankfully since I'm the head alphas son I had no trouble making my way through the crowd. That's when they sound of someone on the intercom caught everyone's attention

"Attention all participants, the Run of the Wolves is about to begin. All omegas please report to the starting line."

All the omegas started to take their places in front of the staring line, and all the alphas followed them. It was at this time that most alphas would look over the group of omegas and decide which ones they were going to go after. So I decided that's what I would do

Even though I was being forced to claim an omega, I wanted to make sure I at least got a good one

As I was looking over all the omega, one specific one caught my eye. But this was no ordinary omega, it was a rare male omega. It was as if the Moon Goddess herself had answered my prayers for not having to claim a female

The omega had dark brown hair and deep brown eyes that I could get lost in. He was gorgeous

My instincts were telling me to walk up to him and claim him right now, but I know I couldn't do that. Plus this would make this boring event a lot more exciting

I was brought back into reality when a pair of brown eyes met mine. He obviously could tell I was staring at him. But could you blame me, he was the most precious thing I have ever laid my eyes upon

I noticed that his eyes were scanning over my face and I couldn't help but puff out my chest with pride seeing that he was checking me out. But the sound of the guy over the intercom caused him to rip his gaze from me

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the annual Run of the Wolves!" The whole crowd started to cheer

"Now I'm pretty sure most of y'all know the rules, but I'm still required to say them so." Come on dude, literally everyone knows that rules. No point of wasting your breath

As soon as the horn is sounded, all the omegas shift and head into the forest. On the 10 minute mark, the alphas will be released. Any omega that can make it through the forest without getting claimed is free to go. There is to be no mating until all omega have either been claimed are have finished the run. Now are y'all ready!"

Most of the crowd cheered, but when I looked at the omega I noticed he just rolled his eyes in annoyance. Looks like someone's not that excited

"On your mark"

The omega looked between him and noticed I was still staring at him

"Get set"

I couldn't help but smirk which was now covering my face. I saw the sudden realization flash in his eyes. Looks like he knows what I want now

"Go!"

All the omegas shifted and started running into the lush forest, all of them except the male omega

A few seconds later he started running but just before he ran into the forest, he jumped and shifted midair. He looked back at all the alphas in his wolf form, looking at all their shocked faces

But when his eyes landed on me once again, he  noticed that I wasn't shocked like the others. If anything, this form of showing off only made me want him more

So just before he disappeared into the forest, I mouthed three simple words to him

'Good luck omega'

I knew that a lot of the other alphas wanted to claim him, and I don't know how he is going to avoid getting claimed by one of them. But all i know is that no matter what, I was going to be leaving with that omega in my arms
