The clock is ticking. 2 hours and 25 minutes before she officially becomes mine...

I'm now in my room, shaking off some thoughts before I finally let my dad, best man Timmy and some photographers inside my room. The stylists are currently fixing my hair.

After a few minutes, Tatay knocked on the door and so my Yaya of a long time from our house in Batangas, Yaya Rosie let him in.

My dad patted my shoulder as he saw me in front of the mirror in the bathroom.

Ruel: Gandang-gwapo mo talaga, Anak.

Aly: Syempre naman Tay. Valdez ata ako eh!

I joked, we both shared laughs. A little after, he helped me put on my long-sleeved white polo and my best man Timmy buttoned it for me. Our wedding is a beach wedding, so I didn't need to wear a gown. Plus, I wanted my bride to be the only one wearing the bridal gown so that she could be unique.

I smiled at Timmy and mouthed "thank you" after he finished buttoning the polo for me.

Timmy: Congrats, Ly! Happy for you!

He said and smiled. We shared a quick hug before my dad requested that everyone, except Yaya Rosie (and me of course), in the room would go out. And so they did.

Ruel: Nagtataka ka ba kung bakit pinalabas ko sila?

I nodded, and then my dad gave me a smile I never saw.

Ruel: May gusto lang naman akong sabihin sayo. Onting bagay lang bago ka mag-asawa talaga.

My dad gently got my hand and held it close to his lap. We were both sitting on the bad while my Yaya Rosie was on the couch.

Ruel: Anak... unang-una, sana alam mo na sobrang saya namin ng Nanay mo na ang tamang babae ang papakasalan mo. You really fought for someone you loved, I know that. Kaya nga hindi ako nagalit nung malaman kong nililigawan mo si Dennise. Kung mapapansin mo, sa past girlfriends mo, hindi agad ako pumayag. Alam ko kasi na hindi sila yung para sayo, kilala ko kasi yung sino talaga yung dapat makasama mo habang buhay. Alam kong si Denden yun. Huwag kang bibitaw sa pamilya mo, lagi mo silang mahalin tulad ng ginagawa mo ngayon. Iwasan na rin ang hilig sa chicks kasi may asawa ka na, ha?

I smiled at my dad but nodded too.

Ruel: Kaya mo yan Anak. Alam kong matapang ang magandang-pogi kong anak, hindi ba? Tandaan mo lang na andito lang kami ni Nanay mo kung kailangan mo ng tulong. Mahal na mahal ka namin, Baldo.

He hugged me tight, so I hugged him back. I wasn't able to hold my tears back as he started to shed some too.

Ruel: Congratulations, Anak...

He said in between the hugs. He let go after a few minutes, then made eye contact.

Ruel: Lalabas lang ako sandali, anak. Kakausapin ka ni Yaya Rosie.

Aly: Salamat Tay. Mahal na mahal ko po kayo.

He smiled at me then stood up after. He left the room, so my yaya Rosie sat on the bed with me. I hugged her before she said anything, and she hugged back.

Rosie: Masaya ako na lumaki kang maayos, Neng. Ang laki na rin ng ginanda mo... Congratulations ulit neng. Masayang masaya ako para sayo. Mahal na mahal ka parin ni Yaya hanggang ngayon, tatandaan mo yan ha?

Aly: Thank you, Ya. I love you too.

A few minutes later, someone knocked on the door again. Yaya opened the door for me, and I saw it was my dad... and....

Ruel: May gusto lang sana kumausap sayo anak.

Aly: Not now, dad, please. Pasensya na po, pero ayoko lang na masira itong araw na ito.

I said it turned back. Bastos na kung bastos, but I just really don't want to turn this happy day into a bad one.

***: Sige na, Apo, kahit sandali man lang.

I sat on the couch again and then he followed me.

Lolo: Pasensya ka na kung hindi kita natanggap dati. Ngayon, nakikita ko na. Alam kong mali ang tingin ko sa mga katulad mo, pag pasensyahan mo na ang Lolo please. Sana mapatawad mo parin ako.

Face palm. I don't know what to feel. It may be hard but it's for the best.

Aly: After all, Lolo parin naman kita.

I said with a smile. He gave me the sweetest grin ever and that made me feel like it was worth it. I knew I didn't make a mistake when I saw how happy and sincere he was.

Lolo: Masyang masaya ako na okay na ulit tayo. Mahal na mahal ka ng Lolo. Tandaan mo yan, Lyssa...

I honestly missed those times when he used to call me 'Lyssa'. My Lolo and I were very close before until I became a lesbian, he started going away from me because he was ashamed of who I was.

And then there, I saw my beautiful bride. Walking in the aisle towards me. I couldn't help but shed so much tears of joy, can't believe that she'll be mine. FOREVER. PERMANENTLY.

...And then it was time to say our marriage vows. The part I've been waiting for, aside from the big kiss.

I held her hand, and kissed it before I said anything. She was already sheding tears though I haven't said a single word. I wiped them off before I started to speak.

Aly: Den, my love... I know promises are hard to make, but I will try my very best to fulfill them. I promise to always put you and our children first. Family will always be my top priority, not work, social life and sports, but family. I promise to believe in you, the person you will grow to be and the couple that we will be together. I promise to be the best Babba to our children. I promise to be your lover, P.A., secretary, security guard, financial supporter, partner in everything, companion, best friend, and your biggest fan amongst many others. But most of all, in front of our families and friends today, I promise to love and take care of you and our children. I promise to make you happy and contented. I love you Dennise Michelle Lazaro, and I will always try to give you the life that you want... Forever and ever Babe.

Den: Ly, you have been my best friend, mentor, playmate, confidant and my greatest challenge. But most importantly, you are the love of my life and you make me happier than I could ever imagine... You have made me a better person. So I am truly blessed to be a part of your life, which as of today becomes our life together. Thank you for being the person I wanted to meet and spend the rest of my life with. Thank you for making me experience the joy of being a mom. Thank you for everything, Love. Alam mo naman na mahal na mahal kita. Forever and ever.

Priest: You may now kiss the bride!

I gently put up Den's veil, she gave me a sweet smile so I gave her mine. I couldn't help it anymore. I kissed her. The kiss that always makes my heart pound.
