Luzes pov:

I hadent been sleeping well (for obvious reasons)

One morning, after a particularly rough night, amity and I decided to go on a date. To the lookout specifically.

Amity had asked to go see a human sunset sometime (it had been cloudy)

I assured her they couldn't compare to the sparkling red sky's of the boiling isals but she dident belive me, her eyes sparkling in a way that (despite the situation) somehow eased a bit of the pain.

After watching the weather for about a week I found a day that was supposed to be perfect.

Today was that day.

After surprising her with a dessert date at the local coffee shop  (She was thrilled) we walked hand and hand to the lookout just in time for the sun to begin its journy down.

"So this is it." Amity grinned, bouncing a little.

"Yeah . . ." I trailed off, gazing into the horizon.

"Luz." Amity said. putting an arm around me. "You know I dident just ask to come because of the sky."

I looked up at her, slightly confused. "But you said. . ."

"Nope." She said with a little blush. "I wanted to spend some time with you."

"We sleep in the same bed." I said with a confused smile. "We spend time together all the time."

"No." She said, eyes glittering mischievously, "Just you."

My heart fluttered. "O-oh"

"Theres your smile." She said, softening, "Plus you've been so stressed so..."

I looked away shyly, catching a glimpse of the sky.

"Amity!"

Amity turned, eyes widening.

The sunset had started, a fabulous display of orange, red, and pink, streaks of white from the clouds.

"You lied to me!" She laughed, "This is way cooler."

We stood in comfortable silence for a minute, her arm still around me.

I waited a moment longer. She had to be fully immersed in the sky right about now, I wanted to look at her, just a glimpse of her pretty face glowing in the setting sun.

I glanced over at her and our eyes locked.

My heart lept into my throat.

Was she looking at me this entire time?

"Your so pretty luz." She smiled, moving closer. I was right, the yellow and pink dancing on her fair skin, her long lashes catching the light just so...

"Your- your missing the sunset." I blushed. By now it had darkened into deep blue and purple, some streaks of pink remaining.

"I know." She smiled. "I could watch it but..."

"But?" I said, feeling her gently hold my face in her soft hands.

"But I  would rather kiss you."

That was the first night back home I slept soundly.
