Lisa was talking to Jisoo on the phone when her secretary came in. The woman stood in front of her, waiting for the telephone conversation to end.

"Excuse me, Jisoo." She said to the other person. She looked questioningly at the woman.

"Ma'am, you have a visitor." Her secretary said.

"Who is it?"

"His name it Jeon Jung-kook. He said it's very important to talk to you right now."

She couldn't think of any reason for Jungkook to visit her. As far as she know, he is already a famous surgeon. He and his brother still see each other but since he moved house she hardly sees him anymore.

"Send him in." She ordered her secretary.

She turned back to the person on the phone. "Why don't you know where Jennie is? You are supposed to be her liaison girl here." She saw Jungkook entered the room. "Nevermind. Just try to find out where she is and report to me as soon as you find anything."

She made the man sit down.

"What's up?" She asked after she greet the man.

"Jennie was with me." He said simply.

She didn't know how to react to that information. "So, is she still professing undying devotion to you?" She couldn't hide the bitterness in her voice when she asked that question.

The man shook his head. "What do you think? You sent her running out of her room in nothing but a blanket. Do you think she would come running to another man after that? Do you have such a low opinion of her?"

"No, I didn't mean that. I am just having a bad day. I haven't slept yet finding her."

"Lisa.." Jungkook started. "I need to tell you something. It's been a long time and I thought, you and Jennie have moved on with your lives so I could just forget about the whole thing. Being with Jennie last night told me how wrong I was."

Lisa just waited for him to say something next.

"I had nothing to do with why she left. On the day of your wedding, she heard you talking on the cellphone with Nancy. Because of what she heard, she assumed that you were forced to marry her and you would rather have your former girlfriend. Because of that, she decided to give you a chance to think and to choose. She actually thought she did that for you."

"And if you know Jennie at that time, you would think that maybe she loved you so much to do something as selfless. She went to America but she wrote a letter to you. I knew about it because she called Rosé to say she was sent the letter through a forty-eight-hour courier."

Her hand was clenched as she listened to what the man was saying. "I didn't received any letter."

"That was because I took the letter."

Jungkook recoiled at the intensity of the look the woman threw at him upon hearing that piece of information.

"What did you say?"

"Lisa, I was so mad at Jennie because I thought she stole you from me. I knew you were in Hongdo Island so I made sure I was at your house when the letter arrived. I took it. Even I couldn't believe it how easily I could have done that."

"It wasn't an accident that we met on Hongdo Island. I did it on purpose. I asked your brother where you were and then I went to you to make sure you would not want to communicate with Jennie anymore. While it was true that Jennie was infatuated with me, she really did loved you."

She didn't speak for a long time. She was too angry for words. "Last night, she mentioned something about a letter but I didn't understand her. How could I?"

The man took something from her bag and gently handed it to her. She stared at it before reaching for it, an envelope from the Seoul International Post Office that had turned yellow from old age. With hands shaking slightly, she opened it.

My dearest Lalisa,

I have been so looking forward to a life with you. These past few months, I have learned to love you more than anyone in this world including myself. This is why I left. Hon, I know what I have done caused you and your family embarrassment and I am truly sorry, sorrier than you could ever imagine. You see, I wanted nothing more than to meet you at the aisle and see you smile at me in that way that had always made me feel special.

Although, you didn't know it then, I would like you to know that I left you a gift. I wanted you to have it.. Your freedom to choose. If only I could choose, I am more than willing to be your wife and we will have many children and live happily ever after. But I need to know that's what you want, too.

I'm here at the Waldorf Astoria where we were supposed to go after the wedding. I will stay here for a week. If you come, I will know that you still chose life with me. Then, I will know for sure that you love me too.

If you can't make it, my heart will break and I will probably grieve over losing you for the rest of my life but I will understand and I will not be angry with you. Lisa, Please believe that I truly, truly do love you, nothing you do will ever change that.

Always,
Jennie.

Lisa fell into her hands after reading the letter. It was a long time before she looked up again. Raw and pain was written on her beautiful face. Pain and rage.

"I would kill you, Jungkook, if it could bring back the nine years you stole from us, if it could take away all the pain Jennie felt because of what you did."

Jungkook was crying. "I can understand if you can't forgive me for the rest of your life because of what I did to you and Jennie. But I would like to say I am sorry."

"Sorry? Sorry? Damn right you are sorry!" You can feel the anger in every word the woman utters. She didn't seem to realize that her voice was getting louder as she spoke. "Do you have any idea how much I love Jennie? Everything I've done these past years, everything I've worked for is to prove to her one day that she was wrong for leaving me! And what did I really manage to do? All I really managed to do is hurt her!"

When she finished shouting, she threw herself back into the swivel chair. "Oh, God! I had hurt her again as if she had not suffered enough. And now, I don't know where to look for her."

She couldn't imagine how she had treated Jennie ever since she arrived. Her coldness probably broke her heart. But instead of hating her, she smiled at her and did things just to get close to her again. And then last night happened. Maybe she thought she was rejecting her. No wonder she fled.

"She's back in America, Lisa. She took the first flight back to the US this morning." Jungkook forced himself to speak despite the blockage in his throat.

She looked at the man and told him to leave. When she was alone she picked up the connecting line to her secretary.

"Tzuyu, call my travel agency. Tell them I need to go to America as soon as possible."

Her secretary hesitated. "But, Ma'am, how about your scheduled meetings? You still have a conference with-"

"Cancel all my appointments. I said I want to be on the next available flight to New York."
