I never had the type of life someone would leave everything to live it.
I don't think anyone ever thought they had that life.
They probably show that they love everything from the outside, but life is just never enough.
Not to a billionaire, not even to a homeless person.
There's always one thing that's missing.
Whether it is permanent or temporary. Whether it is hard to achieve or can be caught in a second. Whether it needs money, or it's free.
My point is, just like everybody else I also wanted just one more thing.
Love.
Someone to love me.
I wanted to find someone that would actually love me and care for me.
"What type of crap are you writing?" I jumped at the voice behind me and closed the book instantly. "You were reading this whole time?" She slowly nodded her head. I rolled my eyes and put the journal in my desk.
"What happened to Damon?" Her arms were crossed and she was putting her weight on one leg. "Damon," I said dreamily, "Damon is the man of my dreams, unfortunately I will never be his." I sighed. She groaned and leaned her head back.
"Not Damon Salvatore!" She yelled. I calmed her down, making sure my mom doesn't hear me fantasizing about 'that idiot' (in my moms words) again. "Then who?" She looked at me with a shocked expression, as she sat on my bed.
FYI, when she sits on my bed that means she not gon' leave until a while.
"Your boyfriend!" I mouthed an 'oh', and nodded my head. "I wonder why he's dating you when you don't even remember him."
I shrugged. Half the people just date other idiots so that when they find 'the one' they can tell them "This isn't my first time". Although, that's not my reason.
"He's the one who asked me. I didn't ask him."
"He just said 'hey let's date!' and you said 'of course!'. Right?"
I looked at her with a straight face. "Genesis, leave." Surprisingly, she got up right away. "I'm just saying, you and I both know you're wasting your time."
Before leaving the room, she peeked her head back in. "Break up with him."
She's the one to talk.
Genesis was actually 3 years older than me, but we didn't have the same mom. Despite being stepsisters, we got along like real ones.
------
"Rise and shine Evie!" She pulled open the curtains revealing the bright light coming from the windows. Why did it have to be this hot?
I groaned as I pulled the covers over my head blocking the light. "You don't want to get late for school right Evie?" Brooklynne said. Only my stepmother (Brooklynne) called me Evie, although she wasn't at all mean in any sort of way. She said the word Evie as if she was up to something.
All the time.
I pulled the covers off me when I noticed she left the room,
I took off my clothes and took a quick shower, and put on my outfit.
I put on light makeup because I wasn't really a fan of doing makeup.
Then I grabbed my backpack and went downstairs.
Genesis, and Brooklynne were already there. "Good morning," I said to Genesis and she responded back.
"Here is some money for your lunch, just buy whatever you want to." Brooklynne said as she handed me a $30 bill. She went back to the bedroom probably getting ready for work. "Did you put extra effort today?" Gen said eyeing me up and down.
I shook my head, while my face remained confused. Then she slowly started to smirk. "I get it now." She said.
"What do you get."
"You, are going to break up with him."
I acted as if I was 'reconsidering' the idea.
"Maybe...maybe not." She grabbed the car keys and opened the front door. "Let's go." I followed her out the front door and got into the car.
-------
I opened the doors to the large building.
Revealing many high schoolers who looked like they'd be anywhere else right now.
"Hey babe." I turned around to face Noah who was standing there with his hands against my locker, trapping me. "Hey." I grabbed the remaining of my books and turned back to him.
"I missed you, haven't seen you the whole weekend." He leaned in to give me a kiss but I turned my head so it ended up on my cheek.
He noticed, but didn't say anything. "I-I'll see you after class." He said, I nodded my head, still looking away.
I walked sown the quiet hallway that was once loud with kids.
I entered my classroom and the teacher immediately said,
"You're usually early."
I walked to my seat and placed my stuff down next to me.
When it became lunch time, Noah came up to me. "Is there something wrong?" He asked.
"N-no... Nothing at all!" I wasn't a very good liar, and most of the time when I lied, I said things very quickly. He squinted at me with one eye, "Are you sure? You acting like something happened, or I did something wrong."
"But you did nothing wrong." That wasn't a lie. It was completely my fault, he never did anything to make me uncomfortable.
He pressed his lips in a thin line. "Can I sit here?"
He asked, when he said that I knew right away that he knew something was wrong. It was an awkward silence for a while. But then he grabbed my hand, "Look, if there is anything wrong let me know okay?" I nodded my head and pulled my hand away from his hold.
"Do you love me?" I blurted.
I wasn't thinking when I said that. His answer was obviously yes. "Yes, why wouldn't I?"
"I'm just asking." I saw Caitlyn walking towards us but she was on her phone. When she looked up she saw us together and quickly turned around, walking the other way.
"Is this what its about?" He asked, a hint of anger in his tone. "Whether you love me, or I love you?"
Yeah, he's mad.
"No, Noah. Nothing like that its just-"
"Do you like somebody else? Or did you just decide that-"
"Stop!" I yelled, he didn't flinch. "I was just asking, you are-" I was going to say perfect, but that's not really what my mind agreed on. "the only person I have my eyes on, Noah."
He pulled me into a hug. I returned it, because whenever he hugged me, I always melted.
"I love you."
"I love me too."
